This song hits the feels. Recently have put my father on the back burner cause of his toxicity towards my sister and I. I try to save my brother but hes fallen into the trap and hasnt gotten out of the manipulation like we have. My father is a gaslighter 100% and says Im a bad influence and I should just forgive him where he makes no moves to do the same.

Loved DC, my daughters grew up with hearing their voices bellowing with amazing harmony blaring in the fun truck with the windows down since they were newborns. Then in 2003 when they were playing a concert in a foreign country - Natalie just haaaaaaaad to say, "Just so you know, we're on the good side with y'all. We do not want this war, this violence, and we're ashamed that the President of the United States is from Texas." With Reba and Toby Keith publicly called her out, causing country radio stations to stop playing their music.
Pissed me off and in 2003 I turned them off and never bothered to play or purchase any of their songs.
Then she/they sang Gaslighter with flashing pictures of Donald Trump as they sang, calling him a liar about this virus and the vaccine. Pissed me off bc here’s a person gaslighting a gaslighter. The hypocrisy reminds me of that kind of shit my ex did for 19 years and counting now towards his daughter that are now 23 and 20.
I see gaslighting as lazy verbal behavior of someone who’s ego stops them from being honest to others.
I get gaslighting is extremely emotionally and spiritually traumatizing. They are witty, charismatic. I see this in DC when she goes into public gaslighting mode. Nice to know by the way that I’m not crazy for not wearing a mask after reading Fauci’s text stating masks do not work. Even though I knew I’m not crazy. For those gaslighting Trump and any other person not wearing a mask now that there is a vaccine and calling us/him crazy. This song’s for you too in more than one way.
Then just yesterday as I’m driving Spotify plays Gaslighter and 5 seconds in I’m pulled right in, playing it on repeat for a good three hours. Spot on with not only the ex but with anyone who calls someone crazy.
Don’t get me wrong, love love love love this song. I’m gonna send this video to my daughters bc they are now the ones being gaslighted by their father. It hurts to see their angst after they have visited him. Now in their early 20’s. All they’ve known is gaslighting and are just now catching a clue that this behavior has a name and it’s not them.

Yeah, my ex lied to me all the time about everything and he sent my nudes to his bestfriend. It’s been 2 weeks since the whole thing happened and he STILL hasnt said sorry about ANYTHING. He never apologized for any lies. He made me wait in the car for half an hour by myself on our “date day” while he sat inside and played with his friends bruh. Never apolgized for ANYTHING. Instead he blamed me for his actions lol.
One time he literally said “well it’s your fault that you let me lie...”
Of course all his friends say I’m crazy because he also lies to them. Lol, all the drama started when he began to lie spontaneously. I’ve never lied, alwyas been faithfully, never treated him cruel, I was rational and fair, I got treated badly unjustifiably so the only shit they have to say is “SHES crazy” even though he did all the wrong.
