Andrew Marr’s full analysis of the election results

Video Overview & Insights

As Reform UK sweep the polls in the local elections, Andrew Marr tells Nick Ferrari that he believes Nigel Farage will be the next Prime Minister.

Reform have got no chance next time.

— @kevinjohnson3782

Mr Farage is celebrating a successful election for his party Reform UK, which has secured hundreds of councillors and gained control of two local authorities, so far.

A jubilant Farage has heralded a “historic change in British politics,” telling reporters “there is no more left-right” as his party was “scoring stunning percentages in traditional old Labour areas”.

Remember.... Andrew also said that Keir Starmer would be a "Transformative PM" so, I wouldn't put too much stock in what he says nowadays....

Looking forward to Tommy running uk ICE harassing British citizens on looks alone !
Farage is a disgrace! I’m not convinced he isn’t a foreign asset. People are struggling because of Brexit as much as everything else. Labour need a left of centre leader like Burnham not another Tory lite like Starmer. We need jobs . We need to tax the very people who are funding Reform before it’s too late. We need to ban non British and non dons owning and influencing British news.

Six days later, we learned that this prediction didn't age very well at all, and Andrew Marr can safely be ignored. Don't give him money for his opinion unless you want the wrong one.

the reason labour or Conservatives are doing badly if you go on the Conservatives run council or a labour run Council they are doing such a bad job they are not able to provide a basic service of filling the port holes s and keeping the street clean

Everyone should keep laser focus on Nigel Farage. That 5 million gift is verrrrry suspicious and should give all reform supporters some reason for doubt

Sometimes it feels like we’re watching a play we didn’t buy tickets for. The actors swap costumes, but the stage, the script, and the ending never change. They all dine at the same tables, whisper in the same rooms, and none of it bends toward us. You wake up one day and realise it never mattered who you marked on the ballot — the machine keeps turning the same way.

With a 'bicycle made for five', real democracy will collapse. In the last election the five 'Muslim Gaza 'Independents' received 100,000 votes BETWEEN them, and became MPs as a result. Reform on the other hand received 4 MILLION votes and also got five MPs. The reason this occurred is because in constituencies with a Muslim demographic of over 20% , all those Muslim voters will vote for their one 'imam approved ' Muslim candidate. The non Muslim and indigenous white vote however will be split ( and therefore weakened ) by them voting for Tories, Labour, Lib Dems, Reform, other Independents, etc.none of which will gain enough votes to beat the focused Muslim vote. (This is why Sadiq Khan continues to be voted in as Mayor of London despite his atrocious record. )

Gerry Adams will be the next PM

Well, it's the fault of Labour and the Conservatives that this is now a very real possibility. They had a choice; improve the living standards of of the people or face a revolt aganst their duopoly. This is the revolt. There's little value in hand wringing now. If those of us who are relatively politically illiterate knew this was coming and why, it's likely our political class knew it too. From that I have to conclude that this was the plan all along; hand Britain over to the far right on a ticket of nationalism. I don't blame Farage for any of this. He's a city boy grifter and as such he's just doing what he knows best. He's exploited the anger, frustration, xenophobia and low intelligence of the working class, who labour have abandoned, to get towhere he is first. If anything he should be commended on a, so far, very successful project.

Yankification. I don't see the appeal but I guess it's what Britain wants.

The inevitable task of dealing with the absolute mess labour will leave is going to be truly painful. There's a risk the party in power during the recovery will be blamed for the pain when labour are the real culprits!

farage is a snake oil salesman who has nothing to do with running a Country.
Mearly enriching himself

Ignorant people in the UK need to realise that without immigration the NHS will collapse. Certain immigration is a problem but that seems to have gotten worse since Brexit. Politicians like Farage wanted us out of Europe with untruths and nothing in place to pick up the problems. Wheres the £350 million they promised and put on the busses ? The Uk is not America and that’s where we’re heading. An island cannot be isolationist.

Fartrage is waiting in the wings Smiling like a Cheshire cat, he knows
he has duped the working class, and that he is ready to con the working
class just as starmer has done and just as bojo has done. The cut backs will sound better coming from FARTRAGE!
TAX CUTS FOR THE MEGA RICH
He will get rid of the sugar tax because the working classes will have to eat shat with sugar
enjoy

So reform is need to demonstrate they can run a local council for three years otherwise they won’t get elected at national level.

Great the uni party is on steroids with a reform victory at next election

If reform get into power they will spend 4-5 years enriching themselves, de regulating crypto and financial markets for their friends and likely do nothing else

@bsimpson6204

This is nonsense. Nigel Farage has NO interest in being PM. It involves hard work and collaboration with other politicians. He's all about pocketting money, and as soon as Reform win a general election, if they do, he'll disappear off to some sunny tax haven.

Do we really want Nigel Farage as Prime Minister,? I have no doubt he will reduce tax on beer and cigarettes , but does he possess enough wisdom to govern and guide the country? I don't believe he has more integrity than the current PM and party members.
