A Writer's Storied NYC Jewel Box Apartment | House Tour
Video Overview & Insights
Step inside the elegant Manhattan apartment of Frances Schultz, a writer, artist and contributing editor at Veranda and Flower Magazine.
She’s refreshing and not your typical high end upper class person.
Nestled on the Upper East Side near Central Park, her glamorous home reflects a life devoted to storytelling, design, and gracious living.
Working with friend and acclaimed designer Richard Keith Langham, Frances transformed the once-dated apartment into a richly layered retreat featuring lacquered ceilings, mirrored walls, well-traveled collections, and rooms designed for both entertaining and everyday life.
Oh my goodness I love this woman. I absolutely adore her. I can. She’s the best person that’s ever been on home worthy. Most of them are so phony and self-centered and trying too hard but this lady is genuine and her apartment is stunning a dream!! more people like her please please
Frances also shares the thoughtful design decisions behind her renovation, how she created a home that supports both writing and hosting, and why she believes our homes shape the way we live.
Along the way, she offers her darling wit, practical decorating ideas, small-space storage solutions, and timeless lessons on creating a home filled with beauty and meaning.
She makes me crave for a friend just like her, she seems beyond lovely. 💞💕

I think this might be my favorite homeworthy video, that and Frances Schultz's one-liners. "It's so small you couldn't swing a cat in it", "I'm a slut for China", "If it's not museum quality, shit paint it." I could listen forever.

I just had to order her book, The Bee Cottage, after watching this home tour. I am starting over at the ripe age of 54 and I want to have a little jewel box of my own. As a fellow southern belle this lady speaks to me! I love your beautiful home and your personality too. 💕

@user-rz7dw8kr6z)))))))))))))))))))) дякую )))))))))))))))))) успіху !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@artvekLove her & her home! I Stumbled on a show or article re her Hamptons "Bee Cottage" a few years ago which was also delightful. However featuring more of Frances herself as you do here is even more delightful. Plus she was a dear friend of the incomparable Nina Griscom. This tour is very special.
@marlena5323What an amazing woman. This video was worth watching just to hear what she had to say! Of course, it was a bonus to see a beautiful apartment. But she's even more of a treasure than the fabulous apartment itself.
@BobbyHutchison-s2cOh, that southern charm! A “tatted up butler’s pantry.” Love listening to her!
@writechick22Love this woman’s apartment. I have her book about Bee Cottage and followed its progress years ago when she wrote about it in the magazine. Great video!
@lindaschreiner8676Not sure if I love her apartment or her more! Delightful tour!😍
@LW0214What a force - fascinating woman and lovely , eclectic, interesting interior. She is giving me Dolly Parton vibes, and that is always a good thing. Marvellous.

@WanderlustDeannaPerfection
@lilla49oCan I say that I LOVE this Frances Schultz lady? Her personality and mannerisms remind me strongly of Jean Smart’s Charlene Frazier-Stillfield from “Designing Women”!
Beautiful apartment.
Please give this lady a show.
@kit2999I love how she says "I don't know why I did that" or "I don't know why I put that there." She just likes what she likes! Also, she has given me some organizing ideas. I need that freezer whiteboard "because a freezer should not be permanent housing, it's a hotel."
@Christine-uf3ojI loved Frances from the second she started talking. She has such a wonderful way of speaking and talking...and, she just immediately pulls you in. Also, she reminds me of Dixie Carters character on Designing Women. Whom I adored!! So charming! I really loved her aesthetic and beautiful home. What a treasure!!
@SusanWilliams-e4hOne of THE BEST and one of my all-time favorite Homeworthy episodes! Totally enjoyable from start to finish! Just love her home and she is so entertaining and interesting!
@janetbirkmann669I’m not sure who came first, this woman or Julia Sugarbaker as played by Dixie Carter but they must be twins!

@ConserveMoreYou have an amazing, beautiful place, your NY apartment with great ideas for small spaces. I enjoyed your description of your beautiful and valuable items. Yes, our places have a story of how we arrived and reflect who we are, and make me reflect on all the places I have lived. I adore your personality and the advice you gave us, thank you very much.
@patricia.parra33She’s as fabulous as her apartment
@LudaNYCShe had me from the first "Hello"!
@susannahwilson7790Very interesting space😊 & host❤
@BisBis1009Frances is a blend of Dixie Carter and Mary Steenburgen, with a dash of Olympia Dukakis' character in Steel Magnolias! I adored her and her beautifully appointed home. She was a wonderful host, the tour was so enjoyable, I felt like she was someone you knew your whole life and felt blessed knowing her. The primary bedroom where the bed was placed...breathtaking. I will remember this tour forever! Simply perfect.
