What's even worse, is that even in Poland's biggest tourist trap cities (them being Warsaw, Wroclaw) the prices, and the taste of a kürtőskalács (kołacz) is better than Prague.

How can it have no smell, when it's coated in cinnamon? It's disgusting.

I remember traveling abroad with my parents when young, and traveling a lot in my 20's as well (20 years ago). It was fun exploring new cultures, foods, architecture. Now a days, it seems any tourist spot is completely overrun with nonsense tourist trap crap. You have to get away from the main places, to find actual culture.
0:00 Testing trdelník
0:51 The classic (no filling)
I tried one for shits and giggles, was not particularly nice. Rather plain tasting.
2:29 Trdelník with ice-cream
3:48 The Best in Prague?
Creme de la Creme was amazing, thanks for the tip.
5:13 Trdelník all-inclusive "DRAGON"
6:28 Trdelník with a sausage
I have been travelling to Praha 10 times 🇨🇿, no one single day was I convinced ever to eat such a crap food (sorry) like that Trendlik roll 🥖
8:12 Czech Word
Thank you for your support!
I got my first trdelník in Prague because I was way too intrigued not to try it.
Literally within seconds of holding it and walking around, I started getting constantly approached by people asking if I wanted to buy drugs. Holding one is basically a giant tourist label.
I also have to be honest… it was pretty awful. Why on earth was it filled with ice cream? No idea, but it completely ruined any enjoyment I might have had.
If you're going to try one, do yourself a favor and get it in Hungary instead. They're 3x cheaper, 3x bigger, and actually taste really good.

@Antoni_703084 euroes for something that's water flour and sugar?
Have you met the crepe industry my friend? 😂
I'm so proud I didn't eat ANY of this when I was in Praha like two months ago, I had way more money to enjoy the actual traditional food that was actually healthier and filling. Instead of eating some oversweetened slop, just get some goulash.
@stahu_mishimaBetter just taste a treelike randomely on your way when not expect it. For example at cerny most on the way to the mall when I wanted to take my flixbus and thought about visiting saunia over there cos of waiting 4h , for just 50or 60 krones :D
@bim21Ahoj kluci z prahy
@andreaminarikova9422i cried when he said "if you got 4 bucks go to mcdonalds" half expecting him to recommend the shop he got the hot trd from.
@boolsdipId love the sausage one. Reminds me of a hotdog.. one we call “fransk hotdog” (French hotdog)
We just put the sauce inside first and then squeeze the sausage down…
It’s great. (But I don’t think it’s the same dough) 😅
I shared one plain Trdelnik with my mother and we both thought it was very unspectacular...
@marysol-j9f5cAs a German I love trdelnik (Baumstriezel) and just looked it up - it originates from Romania :) of course the plain ones not the touristy stuff with the "ice cream" and so on :)
@mashameow9022I really like tredelnik. And the original. But ai never ate tredelnik in prague.
@MoooieeSorry, I tried to be skeptical but it looks delicious 😅
@imnobodywhoareyouuIn Canada we have something that remind me a lot of the Trdelnik, its a dessert/snack call beaver tails, you will find it in all the touristic place, festival and such. but yea... only in the touristic place, as you move away from those place you wont find any beaver tails shop (its an actual trademark brand) but that sweet treat is not traditional at all. dont get me wrong, beaver tails are very good and i enjoy them but we don't eat it on a regular basis... but like the Trdelnik, they are overpriced and made for tourist of festival goer
@dcourteauIts funny that a traditional Slowakian and northern Hungary Traditional food sold Prague so often and Tourists likes it. I thought the actualy countrys get advantege of it not someone wo has so much to do with it as americans and Pizza ore Indians and Hamburger
@theon__thanks for sharing
@Puzzlehup_comYou called that red artificial thing a great gelato? 😂😂 That's embarrassing
@zzzzzz-q6nIt's the same as Belgian waffles in Bruges. We Belgians eat "Brussels" waffels (that is what we Belgians call it) pretty plain with some powdered sugar, or whipped cream, or a boll of vanilla ice cream. The fanciest version is with fruit and ice cream.
But since a few years these waffle shops have began popping up in the center of Bruges who sell waffles overloaded with toppings and it all looks disgusting. I've never had the courage to try one because just looking at them makes me gag.
Why throwing food is normalized is beyond me...
@boltez6507Trdelnik
@Drake-xc2qdMore belong the Hungary than Czech, and in Budapest is much better and doesn't have that Ice cream scam
@lunarstrain235Meanwhile trdelnik somehow made its way to Ukraine titled as “traditional Czech desert”. Saw 2 places in Lviv today
@nana_po4i had these in a different european city, like others said while they were fresh and warm (nothing on it besides cinnamon sugar) and it was absolute bomb. sad how capitalism ruined even that, especially in the place it seemingly comes from
@stonersirenLOL I had one of these and yes it ended up in the trash.
@C2112-s7yI think Trdelnik with chocolate, whipped Cream and strawberry is delicious.
@prlnarin6823tredlnik, trdelnik. Borrow a word from polish language and call it pierdolnik, sounds almost the same and explains the dish perfectly
A mianowicie pierogi.
I was never even remotely tempted to try these when I was in Prague.
@mborokSomeone needs to introduce these ice cream shops to waffle cones
@garthvaterI have NEVER seen this in Praha EVER. Maybe if we went near a place that had it my Czech cousin would say fuj and lets go.
@blackdogslivesmatter1568Well, I must say, some Czechs are smart businessmen selling this airy crap to tourists for $$$$$
@botalm1878Hungarian strudel with ice cream sold in Prague by a covered muslim. Yeah. Very Czech. Couldn't be much Checker.
@botalm1878''Worst version of Hot Dog'' 7:20 😆You like it so much but you still said that. Why?
@YepForMoviesToday I passed through I.P. Pavlova and saw a trdelnik stand selling one with Dubai chocolate for 390Kc. The place is called Trdlo Cafe. I wasn't tempted to try it, but hey-just throwing it out here as an idea for a possible video. A video titled "the most expensive trdelnik in Prague". Do you know of a more expensive one?
@martinlanda155you need to accept that people like trdelník now. i am from nyc; there were no pizza and hot dogs for the first 250 years but there are now. i like prague and i like eatng trdelník in prague, too bad.
@ReptiIicusi saw 290+kr versions everywhere last week😅
@LixiaAdamcova👍🏼
@Napoleonka_100Still many Indonesian think that if they go to Prague they must buy trdlnik. Even tour companies write on their leafmet
@thestar4753At what point does it actually become traditional tho?
@deanr631you are a bit of drama queen with this one
@Armacedongod this guy is miserable
@gfraser92The city should start refusing business applications for those wanting to make Trdelnik stands on the grounds of cultural preservation.
@ragingclue842people eat a lot with eyes 👽
