🎉 EXCLUSIVE OFFERS FOR YOU 🎉
1️⃣ I'm now partnered with FRIDAY Pickleball.
Thank you. When I see my opponent run to the NVZ line and they hit a poor return, I hit it straight at them low. If they hit a short return, they should move up slowly, stopping when their opponent hits the ball back. :) // If I see my opponent is a woman returning the serve, I will move up a few feet, as almost all women never hit to the back of the court. // Beginners usually never hit third-shot drops because they are difficult to learn, and hit a third-shot drive because bashing the ball is easier. :) I met you many times at Gilbert Regional Rec Courts. I now live in Vietnam and play there all the time. Hope all is going well. :)
Use the same paddle I play with — the Friday Fever 102.

I know this is a few years old, but another "strategy" that most don't talk about is paddle selection as a beginner. I had no idea what I was doing and hadn't ever played a game, but went to the local sporting goods store and just bought the most expensive paddle they had assuming it was "the best" paddle. I generally played terrible and launched every other hit into orbit, but just kept trying to learn to be softer, but still struggled.
Fast forward and i join a more structured club and league and one of my team mates sees how i keep popping everything up and hitting long and tells me to try his paddle. Almost instantly my game improved drastically because his paddles was a softer control paddle while mine was a power paddle. I bought a new control paddle and it was life changing in my very next game.

This is the 5th video I’ve watched about positioning but the best by far. Thanks!
@bschrankGreat lesson—thanks!
@PomPack-RCWhat’s your paddle series?
@joy4362Great video.Excellent teaching fundamentals I need to focus on. Thank you very much!
@jjbloyberVery useful, thanks. I've only played two hours (literally - two intro sessions) of pickleball in the last week and definitely was guilty of #2 and #3. I'm working on keeping my racquet up, and not letting myself drift in after serving.
@hotdawgzI wish my games were this slow , everyone is banging it nowadays
@zarf4219i've been watching PB videos for a few months now. These are the best. Clear, simple advice
@nahcllibIt’s funny how things change. I see these video is 2 years old. Now they say to work your way up to the net instead of running up, so you don’t get caught in transition. I still try to run up
@johnurban7333Good one, Ivan.
@DJWoods22I can’t get beginner women to come to, and stay, at the net. They’re intimidated and always playing defense in the back court. I explain the strategy but doesn’t help. Btw i’m a 70 yr. old female. I spend 90% of game at the net.
@jh-mp8soGood video
@JenniferHackemeyerI just played for the first time this weekend, now I am a semi addict lol, and this is the best channel I’ve found so far.
@ACR4008Finally, someone who can explain it in a way I understand 😂😂
@Grace_Georgegreat❤
@김담윤-g3dWhat is the drop?
@libbysukiyakiGreat video! I can’t wait to watch it together with my wife/teamate. It gives us a good basic strategy/plan. Something we can hang our hats on! Thx!!
@RogerHildrethReally good video!
@SmartNJ-BoyThis video is so helpful thank you so much! But WTH happened at 7:26? It looked like a wolf just appeared out of the net lol! 😂😂😂
@dannainanReally good tips and explained clearly 10:43
@RICHARDSANDLER-t5vEverytime I drop, I got smashed!
@summmmmmableThat's a great pb tips video. Thank you so much. It helps a lot to understand and use them when I play games.
@siwondarleneI have been teaching for 15 years and playing for 30+ years. I always look for useful videos to share with my students. This is an excellent video for new students especially but also sound fundamental strategies for all players. Well done! Beat the backhand to death !
@lonkrantz2038Hai! From malaysia here. Played pickleball for a year now (almost). Found your videos yesterday. And your videos are sooo soo good compared to others. Clear and straight forward!
New subscriber here. Will be using the advice in the court soon!!
Thank you
@Melodie007Your videos are just great!
@cynthiapotter97Rule of thumb is on the third hit run up to the line
@ChosenlilPickleballerShould We "Evaluate" BEFORE Running To The KITCHEN???
@tootory9506Thank you for all the videos. I have played pickleball for 4 weeks and only until now I can learn the technique and strategy for beginners.
@unknown531986Your foot was on the kitchen line many times.
@confucius2616Thanks Kyle for the great video❤
@chits23Amazing video, very concise, on point and perfect for beginners!!
@parampatel6955The serve and run thing depends on you and your teammate. I have a friend who is 6’2, incredibly flexible and very good at volleying and fast, he can easily cover both sides. I’m 5’9 and also quick, but my volleying game isn’t as good as his, but my forehand and backhands are much more accurate. We always have him go up while i stay back and fill in gaps when he can’t, basically I’m where he isn’t, so even when he gets caught, I’m behind him ready to help him recover with a hard forehand or a soft drop that gives him time to get back in the game or have me go up as a surprise to the opponent, only time he lost with this strategy as with 4.5 Indian duo that were going nuts with their slices and serves
@Chadius_Thundercockthis hate on Tyler is crazy lol
@boppy64if someone serve, hit and run to the kitchen line but if you are bad at blocking or volley then its useless also if you are serving you have to stay and return the shot then move in that's the rule this has nothing to do with stupid strategies....
@direwolf525Great video. Such basics but so needed for beginners. I have played only a couple times and now I know what I should do. Very very helpful.
@royk5821This never works on opponents who return a high ball to the back of the court. You end up running forwards and backwards just exhausting your own energy. Better to outplay them through adept top spin or back spin with dinks and hard drives.
@Gandalfthegrey59Just found your channel today. Have only been playing a few weeks and I feel like I have learned so much.... I play tonight so I plan on implemnting two tips then add another two next time I play.
