What is incredible is that it takes forever and half if not all of your money and assets to retrieve your identity, clean your record as if you were the criminal, etc . it doesn't make any sense!

@janesprando3638As for identitytheft.gov, first, all of my personally identifiable information was, in fact, released to all malevolent actors years ago by my employer, THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT. And second, you are surely aware that the federal government is now headed by a convicted felon, no? Somehow, that is not reassuring. I suspect I will need to take other action than what you recommend in step 2.
