Fun facts: That first detonation was RDS-3 which was detonated at roughly 400m above ground level, which for scale is about the same height as the World trade Center's Twin Towers were. to get a sense of the size of the explosion, imagine you were looking at the twin towers and the bomb was sitting on the roof of one of them.

By the time that initial spherical fireball starts to deform against the ground, it is already twice as tall as one of the towers, and by the time the Wilson cloud starts to dissipate revealing the mushroom cloud, it is already 4 times as tall.

This detonation's yield is estimated at 41kt, about the same as the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombs combined, and 0.082% that of the Tzar Bomba.

The fact that nations have tested thousands of these things without any fear from the radiation tells me it's nothing to even worry about. Unless you are close enough to die from the blast of course.😂
