We only had 48 hours in Lisbon, Portugal and it completely surprised us! From iconic trams and epic viewpoints to hidden food gems, this 2-day itinerary covers the best things to do, eat, and see in Lisbon if you're short on time.

In this travel vlog, we share exactly how we spent 2 full days in Lisbon. From exploring Alfama to eating (and baking) the best pastel de nata.

So did just tap your credit card on the tram? How much was it?

Sorry, but i have to tell you. Lisbon has 4 000 to , the 2nd oldest city in Europe, 400 years older than Rome. The moors only ocupied Portugal for arround 5 centurys, 200 years before the Castelilians expeled the last ones. So , no, Lisbon in not moorish. They only ocupied what was already there for long time.

Lisboa beats Barcelona hands down. Period. Skip that overrated town on your tour of the Iberian peninsula and focus on Madrid and southward into Portugal. Nice touch adding the fado music and experience in this vid!

👋About Us

I love the way you travel! Your videos helped me make a decision to visit Mexico City and helped shaped my trip.

— @licenciadamaria-b2d

We're Juliana and Martín! She’s from the USA, he’s from Mexico. We’re here to help you turn your trips into culture and value-packed adventures.

Think the travel world’s only split into hardcore backpackers and tick-the-box tourists? We call nonsense. You’re out to see a destination’s must see spots, but also to sneak off the tourist path to find the spots that only locals go. You’re chasing experiences with value, and we’ve got you. When you travel with us, it’s no fluff, just the good stuff—because your vacation deserves more than just scratching the surface.

Sorry guys, but You pronounce AZULEJOS ... in Spanish. It would take ten minutes or less to check the correct sound of "J" and "O" in Portuguess. Please...

Hanoi Vietnam is cold in January if you're going North. March is the best month to visit North to South

I did Hanoi, Cat Ba Island, Ninh Bihn, Da Nang, Hoi An, Saigon and LOVED it ALL!!! No rain, tank tops and shorts, perfect weather, Amazing excursions, amazing sites, amazing food, amazing hotels, amazing roof top bars, amazing motorcycle rides, amazing boat rides, amazing beaches, amazing coffee, did I say amazing food and even the women were amazing!!! amazing EVERYTHING!!

Lisbon is the most overrated City in Europe bar none. Now Porto Portugal was AMAZING and fun. I'm easy to please but the sites, food, hills, waterfront, areas were so below average compared to the rest of the world that I've traveled. Major disappointment.

Manteigarria sells Pasteis de Nata, which have nothing to do with Pasteis de Belem. Different pastries. There is no debate there. The debate is only between Manteigaria and Fabrica da Nata.

Pastéis de nata...não dinata????

@cjnge6828

Great video! A couple of things I wanted to mention for those planning trips to Lisbon (my family is from there and have spent a lot of time there):

1) Don’t speak Spanish/assume the locals speak Spanish! If you’re a native English speaker, you’re much better off speaking English (outside of the usual key phrases any visitor should learn when visiting a foreign country). Portuguese study English in school, and many can speak at least some Spanish before English. It’s a cultural faux pas to assume Portuguese people speak Spanish, based out of centuries of a ‘sibling rivalry’ (easiest way to sum it up). Also, because of the western/North American assumption that the 2 languages and cultures are the same (they overlap, but they are different). Portugal has its own culture and language, that they’re very proud of, that isn’t Spanish. A local won’t get annoyed to your face if you speak Spanish to them, but it is a matter of respect of where you’re visiting.

2) PLEASE don’t buy azulejo’s at flea market! They’re 99.999% likely stolen from buildings for resale, which is a huge problem in the city as a result of the tourism boom in the country. Please by them from artisan shops, or even better, take a class and design/paint one for a unique souvenir.

Would you mind letting us know which hotel you stayed at in Lisbon? Would you recommend it?

parece que há uma aposta em mostrar aos turistas o que há de mais sujo da capital... essas paredes de pedra carregadas de erva, é um horror... tenho vergonha alheia desse triste cenário...

Juliana mentions Toledo so often in these videos. 😂 I hope you will visit Toledo while you are in Spain.

Great video. Really enjoyed it and you guys have a great vibe. I do photo tours here in Lisbon and one of the museums I always recommend is Museu do Azulejo so I was very glad to see you went there (I also recommend doing the guided tour, when possible).
You have not made a giant mistake by not going inside the tower. You'd make a giant mistake not coming to Lisbon at least once in the Winter and taking advantage of much smaller queues.
Anytime you're back in Lisbon, feel free to reach out.

Don't speak in Brazilian accent please. That is not the Portuguese correct way to speak! For ex, in Portuguese, you say "Bom dia" with a solid "Dia". You pronounce "DJia" like the Brazilians. Don't do it in Portugal, please
