Just a note ALL downtowns in ALL cities are not that fun 😂. They all pretty much have homless and really only for the natives to go to work and go home. Im sure there are nice restaurants and probably some fun festivals or fest though. Peace

2:07- 3) Assuming Downtown is NEAR the beach
I’ll be visiting in a couple weeks staying in Chula Vista
3:03- 4) Not Crossing the Border to Mexico
4:07- 5) Not Visiting North County San Diego
You may not see this but I wanted your advice about something. I’m blind and wanted to hire someone to help me do the zoo and balboa park and was wondering the best way to connect with someone local to help with this.
4:48- 6) Visiting on a holiday weekend
5:34- 7) Not going east county

I've used MTS busses and the trolley to get all over San Diego. Super cheap and super easy. It's particularly easy to get to TJ on the trolley and walk across.
9:48- 12) Not being prepared for the beach
10:44- 13) Bars & Clubs close at 2am
Please dont drink and drive guys
11:39- 14) Not taking advantage of Happy Hour Specials
12:36- 15) Eating Theme Park Food

@joebelow9700Just visited on 4th of july weekend and had a blast. I did stay downtown but it wasn't too expensive. A LOT OF HOMELESS PEOPLE. Parking downtown is crazy expensive depending on time but definitely rent a car. Party 1 day on the strip then visit the beautiful scenery outside the city

@jeannineeileen5019Respectfully Jay, I vacation in San Diego frequently (6x in the last 18 months) and I never rent a car. With the Coaster that serves North County so well, great vacations await in Oceanside, Carlsbad, Encinitas, and Solana Beach. Around the city too, the light rail helps for Old Town to Downtown, Mission Valley, UTC, etc. Cars are too expensive. Plant yourself in a hotel by the beach, the bus can help too.

@Gbags-x4hI love SD, but for some reason, Mexican food in LA is better and more authentic. I’ve had a large sample size from both. My guess would be LA has a lot more Mexican regional diversity

@jp6378Stop driving 50 mph on the freeway. It’s dangerous and I’ve seen people get into accidents because of slow drivers.
@frankt5987I like you mention North County all the way out to Ocotillo, Julian, etc. People should know how diverse SoCal is from the forest to huge deserts to beaches
