I’ve watched all th English speaking movies, we must be on th same frequency lol, but in th shadow of the moon is my fav. I also love th blockbusters, interstellar, inception, th martian etc, bc I lov th science as opposed to th fiction of th others. Have you seen primer, it’s so messy nd excellent haha.
Here's a question. When was the last time a new sci-fi movie genuinely made you think? Because somewhere between the endless reboots and the CGI spectacles that cost $300 million and say absolutely nothing, we forgot what the genre is actually for. Today we're going back. Fifteen sci-fi films that are more original, more intelligent, and more worth your time than anything the algorithm has been pushing you lately. Welcome back to Movie Verse. Stay for number one, because it was written on a man's deathbed, shot for almost nothing, and it will stay with you for years.

The only one I watched is The Man from Earth, so cannot say if it deserves to be number 1. But it definitely deserves a watch.
Another must see that should be on this list is Predestination, with Ethan Hawke.

There are some I've seen on this list and loved very much and there are a few I haven't but Man From Earth in my opinion deserves the no 1 spot on this list. This movie does challenge some delicate sensibilities but it does it in such a beautiful and heartbreaking way and all by asking "what if?"

I've seen Ender's Game (several times) and The Man From Earth. Both are great. The Man From Earth was actually quite good, and I need to watch it again. I've added The Vast of Night to my To Watch list. =D

Vidocq reminds me of a movie the same golden face plate but it was set in medieval time and they through his spaceship was a dragon, with a knight trying to kill the strange knight/spaceman to get control over the dragon but switching places

@TheFloatingBartenderMost modern sci-fis are banal, feel-good garbage. They all seem to look the same and are variations on a common, well-worn theme. And the sound is so poorly recorded and the actors whisper and mumble and there's so much 'music and effects' so I can't tell what they are saying.
@andyhowlett2231Love the man from earth, been a top movie for me for a long time now.... you would look and think its boring but if you're actually watching and listening and not doom scrolling.... its fantastic .... lobster was weird

I really liked The Man From Earth. If I'm I remember right, there's 2-3 in the series?
Archive was slow but interesting. Upgrade was badass. Enders Game was really good too.

I would not classify some of the movies as science fiction. Fiction yes, but not science fiction.

@valentindimitrov8275Loved Enders Game. But it missed a lot of little bits from the book. And they took lots of creative license with it rewriting whole ideas. As a fan of the book series, I liked it, but was also disappointed.

@ArticLoverThe Lobster was quite a movie. Doing it in complete deadpan, had to be hard. The little skits from the hotel staff were funny, but the one that made me laugh was the spa scene where she pretended to choke on an olive, and he just stared at her and after faking her death looking up and saying we are compatible. 😅
