I have something to add on the game corner thing: in the german version (don't know, how the rest of EU got it) the game corner works normally in Diamond/Pearl, but not in Platinum because the law changed on "gambling" in games. So to retain the E rating, they literally disabled the mini game, so the only way to get prices was buying coins...

Absol is possibly based on Bai Ze or Hakutaku, a beast who shared its knowledge of all the supernatural creatures in the world and how to avoid the disasters they can cause. Though there are a lot of other potential inspirations listed on Bulbapedia, I'd love to hear from whoever designed it specifically...

Actually the two sodas or fresh waters spawning when buying from most vending machines is normal it has happened to me like in 3 games so far. that one, black & white and in scarlet/violet

Fun Fact: Statistically you would need to have encountered 459 Roselia's before you had a 99% chance of seeing the absorb bulb. At 100 Roselia encounters you only had about a 64% chance having seen an absorb bulb.

I wonder if in ORAS it can go beyond two free drinks. Like if it exponentially gets more rare because you have to hit a 1/32 roll more and more times sequentially.

I also wonder if you traded a seadra holding a dragon scale into FRLG before getting the national dex, what would happen. When the pokemon comes in, it’s an allowed pokemon and iirc the games make item evolutions uncancelable

12:39 in GSC, the item odds are actually never 100, 50, or 5% of the time (excluding the box legendaries and Snorlax which force an item). For example the Thick Club is present on Marowak and Cubone 2% of the time. The way the code works is every pokemon has 2 item slots (the first of which can be no item). The game decides to give the wild encounter an item 25% of the time: it picks the first slot 92% of the time and the second 8% of the time

I just wanted to say I really like your videos, but I just wish that most of them weren't as compilations and were just their own video. Kind of makes it hard to tell which videos I have or have not seen since most of the stuff is smaller videos within larger videos and there tend to be repeats between videos which makes it a bit hard to watch and have to filter out whether I've seen this part or not constantly. Maybe have all the standalone videos in a playlist or something? I would much prefer that honestly. I get you gotta do what you gotta do to extend the video time and it's nice for people who haven't already seen most of them, but for me it's kinda hard to find stuff I haven't seen already. Like I will click on a video and two thirds to all of it is repeats which makes finding stuff I haven't watched more difficult.

These videos are wild because sometimes I'll know the rare fact but then you'll open the video with mantyke having more special defense than chansey and I'm genuinely shocked

I had this happen when I was a kid. My party had a Chansey that I had caught to be a special wall I believe. I was rather confused when it tried to evolve, and even more so when it didn't work. I can't remember if I had even heard of Blissey at the time either. And as a child I had never wanted to catch ALL the pokemon, so I didnt unlock the national dex for a very long time. That poor Chansey just kept attempting evolution until I unlocked the postgame.

I was playing the FRLG rereleases on my Switch, and while EV training in the early game I found a shint Paras on B1 of Mt. Moon. When I caught it, it was holding the 5% Big Mushroom. I genuinely couldnt believe it

You definitely should not be using a shiny Pokémon when doing those long hunts lol. Just making it take longer to get through it.

The deepest chamber of the caves where you encounter Zygarde, Terminus Cave in X and Y and Resolution Cave in USUM are nearly identical.
As are the names of the caves.
Resolution and Terminus both refer to "Endings"
A lot of people compare Zygarde to Guzzlord, and for good reason.
There was a scrapped scenario in which Zygarde was supposed to transform to Complete Forme help you battle Guzzlord after getting the 100 cells.
That was the threat that Dexio and Sina posited that Zygarde appeared in Alola to stop.

Furthermore, the same chamber where you encounter Zygarde in USUM, you encounter Guzzlord in vanilla S/M.
In the same spot, even.
Which corresponds to the spot where Zygarde is encountered in Terminus Cave.

Zygarde represents the balance of nature, while Guzzlord is the incarnation of imbalance.

Unlike Yveltal, who takes, Guzzlord simply consumes.

There was this weirdly liminal landmark in Pokémon where the entire map was a dead end with nothing of value in it, no items, no Pokémon, just a lone NPC, who notes "There's absolutely nothing here. Though the fact that there's nothing here makes me feel as though there may be some incredible secret hidden here after all."

Nearly every location in Pokémon serves some kind of purpose.
Even the Chamber of Emptiness, who's map description describes it as a "Void where nothing can exist" is the location of Bannetite

But there really is nothing to be found there other than that NPC and an otherwise empty chamber.

Fact 4 is probably a programmimg oversightin the case of the Strange house, but intentional in Volcarona's chamber.
After all, Volcarona is venerated as an incarnation of the Sun.
It'll always be "daytime" in its chamber

Though I'm sure Scorched Slab in Hoenn would've been programmed the same in ORAS had any Pokémon actuallu, y'know, ever spawned in that cave.
Neither the water, though it connects to a pool of water on Route 120 that does have Pokémon in it, nor the ground, though it's a cave, have any Pokémon in them.
The only thing there is a TM for Sunny Day iirc.

Fact 5 isn't that obscure to people who played that game
Zubat can be obtained as early as mount moon, is super common, Crobat has a cool design, and is one of the better offensive poison types.
For that matter, the soothe bell only doubles Happiness gains, it's not required to increase happiness.

If you don't let it faint and bring it along througout your adventure, and especially if you train it with the EXP share so it can get level up friendship without risking fainting, its not that odd for it to wind up having enough happiness to evolve before reaching the Elite Four.
Fact 9.
Why not use Frisk to check for held items?
That way you avoid triggering Roselia's Poison Point ability and you can just run if you don't find what you need.
Fact 10. Yeah that would be a more poignant choice if it was found on 121, since that's closer to Mt. Pyre 🙄

The name Dim Sun is more about light and hope than heat or energy.

The head, Blake Hall, was motivated by despair more than anything.
His name is a pun on Black Hole, which is what happens when a star that burns to bright dies.
He also had his name changed from Wyatt Hall (White Hole), as his despair turned his limitless generosity to a limitless desire for destruction.
A White Hole is a theoretical celestial object that spits out matter and energy the same way Black Holes consume them, by the way.
Vatonage, as in the Vatonage Styler that the protagonist uses at the end of the game, refers to bonds that bring light to the world.

I used to go on hunts for held items all the time in DPPt, and X where you could get items from background environments. Don't think I ever found shinies while doing that though. 😅
