Zager & Evans - In the Year 2525

Video Overview & Insights

Here's a music video I cut together with footage from the classic apocalyptic sci-fi film Metropolis, combined with sci-fi folk song In The Year 2525 by Zager & Evans. I really found them fitting together in a dystopian transhumanist meets Aldous Huxley's Brave New World kind of way. What awaits humanity after the intense technological and biological developments set in motion? If we ever get there? Thea von Harbou had some intensively accurate visions of the future. And Fritz Lang did the visual masterpiece. Not to forget Brigitte Helm and her impressive acting. All this is now a classic topic about the future of humanity. In this video I wanted to concentrate the idea, the message and the visions of the future. With the classic one hit wonder song and outstanding vintage film footage.

30 000 000 million views passed! 💛
Back in 2014 I mixed scenes from the film Metropolis (1927) with Zager & Evans’ song 'In the Year 2525'.
I still remember the night it all got put together, after so much time thinking about how they fit together.
It worked in the back of my mind for months.
Then one late evening into night time it happened, the cut fitted and the video was made.

Now I still watch Metropolis once every year at least, it's a pioneering film, a great great classic that will be relevant in its cinematography as well as topic as long as humans will watch films.

Crazy really, if dad hadn't been working and not available we'd have been in a home. He paid the rent and energy bills. That life.

Jahrgang 1956.

If God's a-coming, He oughta make it by then

Maybe He'll look around Himself and say

If I may overstate:

The evils that government does are consented to by voting.

Voters are allowed to choose between personalities, not policies, so the inch-by-inch enslavement agenda continues to roll out in front of our faces, yet behind our backs.

We, anarchists, we "consensualists", we "freedomists", we voluntaryists, belabor this point because we are swept up into this immoral/unethical (therfore, in reality, illegitimate) system of coercion, deception, extortion, kidnapping, violence, mass murder, and totalitarianism, without consenting to it.

Good intentions will always be pleaded for every assumption of authority. It is hardly too strong to say that the Constitution was made to guard the people against the dangers of good intentions. There are men in all ages who mean to govern well, but they mean to govern. They promise to be good masters, but they mean to be masters.
- Daniel Webster

Asking "Without government, who will build the roads?" is like asking "Without slavery, who will pick the cotton?".
Abolitionists of the past were under no obligation to explain how society would work without slavery.
Abolitionists of the present are under no such obligation either. Both of which understand that slavery is wrong and has to end.

The mob called "government" isn't going to abolish itself; it isn't going to stop coercing, extorting, being secretive, murdering, or being the biggest terrorist organization on the planet.

So, the conversation of having systems of voluntary orders lies with those of us who prefer systems of actual consent, which I think is most people, but for the afore mentioned reasons, that notion is hardly in the minds of a majority yet.

It is indeed a colossal challenge for those who choose principle over politics, but one I am obligated by recognizing the ethics/morality of it to undertake, and I'm willing to act on that obligation.

The Romans thought the bow & arrow was the ultimate weapon. In 2,000 years a look back at us now may well look the same way. I posted a question on another video, on a scale of 1 to 100 with one being a caveman with stone tools and 100 being total knowledge possible to be learned here on earth, where do you think we are currently at? Keep in mind a man working at the patent office quit his job when the steam paddle wheel was invented because he thought everything was now invented and he would lose his job anyway!
