Doesn't work for me. When writers block hit me, the train of thought just stops. I don't have any bad ideas, I don't have any ideas at all. Just a void.

yes. procrastination is purely a stress responce. preassure to be perfect is the ultimate stresser on the creative process. this anti perfectionissm takes practice! but its sooo fun. it is becoming child like, silly and playful.

I’ve been writing for a few months now every other day, just about trying to get good enough skills to write a book that's good enough to get published.

This video helped me out so much. I was just staring at my laptop screen for a good 3 hours today, and I just was completely drawing a blank. Now, what I'm writing after this might not be "the right thing," but it's a start, right? Even garbage is better than a blank page.

nah that aint my issue is just that whenever i need to anything creative my mind goes blank like i stop being able to think and just get paralized

A very very relatable problem for writers, along with I must say for all creatives this problem can happen. I also have realized that it should be in a state of flow and need to consciously avoid criticism in the idea stage.

I don’t really think my writer's block is caused by the need for perfection, or at least not that much.

I think my block is external as I have a day job as a warehouse worker and by the end of the day I'm usually too tired to focus on writing despite the fact that I really want too. I've been able to push past the exhaustion before but I guess I just lost the momentum.

Gosh, darn. This video is 12 years old, but even to this day, in 2025, it's still helping me. "Just Write Garbage," has been a fantastic boon for me when it comes to writing. I used to be trapped in a state of constantly going back and refining, but now, I just let it all out. Go over it a few times and usually I feel satisfied with it and get it out. Because of this, I was able to finish a book and now it's being published!
