@Isagiuzumaki891Chelsea is probably the only Premier League team that has won the two biggest titles playing a back three (a PL and a UCL), so I think they'd be more open to it than most. Contrast that with Amorim at United, for example

@mulawarmankwsuperMy only concern with Xabi Alonso is the transfer market and backing. If he is backed properly with suitable candidates for each position that are Premier League experienced, then I think Chelsea have a really good chance of even pushing for the title with 1 game a week.
@rkslounge81173:01 this will be key. inverting fullback are one of those tactics that look better on paper than on the actual pitch. If fullbacks are skilled enough to invert, they wouldn't even be fullbacks to begin with. Even Frimpong and Arnold struggled to invert at times and those two are some of the most talented attacking fullbacks in the world. The required skills are just way different when fullbacks are inverted. Regular fullbacks focus on crossing and vertical runs whereas inverted fullbacks need finishing, through balls and vision. There are only a handful of fullbacks who are capable of inverting and they are either super expensive or completely off the market(Hakimi, for example). Just let fullbacks be fullbacks will be key to fixing our current tactical woes.
@jomw2003i can definitely see the new arrival quenda being successfully recast as a rm/wingback, he already has experience at sporting in that area behind the more out and out AM/half winger and poses a threat on those spontaneous underlapping runs imo. should alonso adopt hsi old system at leverkusen and should it be successful in the premier league, quenda could be a huge winner.
