When I was a kid it was, if it comes from a tree or bush that doesn't die it's a fruit. If you have to plant it every year, vegetable garden, it's a vegetable.

This is the definition of vegetable I use, making a tomato both a fruit and a vegetable.

Every time someone tells me that "technically, tomato is a fruit", I have to tell them "biologically speaking, yes, but they are also vegetables". Why? Because vegetable is not a biological term, it's a culinary term, and in culinary, tomatoes are vegetables.

@mastawdude, eat more potatoes and slow the heck down when you talk...they will also deepen your voice....try it...think about russian people and deep voices and potatoes.
