2:23 The Cold War and America's Support for Israel

5:38 Why US and Israeli Interests Are Starting to Diverge

This is crucial time for Israel to secure long lasting peace and bring hostile country to reason , if Israel miss this opportunity things will be extremely intricate and difficult in the future
Israel must not be deterred or stopped by any critics or countries who are not in Israel shoes and don’t have a full understanding of the history of the region or simply don’t care
The Arab nations are ready for a change , the west and certain hostile countries can impede Israel progress, sometimes intentionally and sometimes out of ignorance
In any case Israel must decide for its future
I think countries are reluctant to see Israel becoming a middle eastern power built on technology and science
Israel 🇮🇱 must stop the people motivate the people motivated by personal interest and do due diligence

9:39 Trump vs. Netanyahu? Examining Recent Tensions

12:06 Israel's Security Strategy After October 7

Cold war ended? There is still great power competion. Stupid talk about US wanting to withdraw from conflicts. If it happens China or Russia will fill the vacuum and smaller countries will have no choice but to alie with them. Isolated US will not be a great power any more not militarily and not financially since the dollar dominance will end also.

The Head totally avoided the issue of domestic politics in the Arab countries -- arabs just don't like hearing about Israeli settlers killing Palestinians and driving them off their land. The number of West Bank Arabs killed in the recent years approaches the number Israelis killed in the October attacks -- does it justify a genocidal response against Israel the way Israelis insist their crimes in Gaza are justified?

The Head seems to be aware of these issues, but he prefers to talk around them when he says that the Arab governments will pay the price if they take on these non-state actors. Why? Because the non-state actors are popular in the Arab countries! At least their cause is. Ignore that at your own peril.

Purpose is to prop up Israhelli image and absolve it of genocide. How much strategic depth does it need. Best option is to move it to Montana state.

Trump telling Israel to get out of Lebanon is the same as committing slow suicide. If trump would stay out of Israel's way, Israel can make Lebanon free again. Trump is the obstacle. Remember trump condemned Israel for saving the Druse in Suwayda.
Hamas barely had 2 weeks left before it's end and trump said stop. Fk trump the enemy bearing gifts to troy.

What Israel needs is a free Iran allied with Israel, India, UAE, Azerbaijan, somililand, Kurds and others. In a few years together, Iran Israel India can produce all it's military needs and america can go home. A free Iran is a direct threat to trump and friends money profits and control. That's why trump will become Israel's enemy ahead.
Abraham accords the bible calls the covenant with death and will be annulled under duress.
The good one is called a separate Cyrus Accord.

The 1973 war lasted 3 weeks. General haig provided arms airlift to Israel not authorized by the govt and Israel had to come pick up everything.

George is making points that simply are no longer true. The fears of Isreal being split and needing buffer zones WAS true throughout the 1970's and 80's. With the bankruptcy of Lebanon, revolution in Egypt and fall of Syria, Isreal is no longer surrounded by any peer adversary. The need for Isreal to use pre-emptive attacks has more to do with regional ambition than any true military need.

There is no Al Qaeda in Iran. Many credible experts have challenged the fact that Al Qaeda did 9/11 . Israel has already lost.

Your guest forgot the main reason for what is happening in the Middle East THE PALASTENIAN ISSUE

@mamdouhnada3796

Just a few comments . in the earlier wars with Israel the notion of Pan Arabic coalition ( albeit Soviet backed ) was prominent - but seems to have disappeared. Iran is not Arabic , but currently a radical Islamic regime in a Persian culture - so the middle east conflict is now ideological rather than ethnic . Radical Islamist attitude to Israel have been clearly stated “ No recognition , No negotiation , No peace “ , calling for the destruction of Israel . Israel has no intention of implementing a ‘ Two state solution ‘ in Palestine , and is busy dispossessing the indigenous Palestinian arabs in the West bank while working for a “ Greater Israel “ from ‘ the river to the sea ‘ . If peace is the product of justice , there can be no peace in Israel / Palestine with the persisting attitudes of the militant Shia Islamists and the extreme Zionist regime . If the war in Ukraine has anything to teach us , it is that there is no military solution. Slow flying drones from Ukraine can traverse Russia and strike ammo dumps and oil infrastructure in St Petersburg without any difficulty .And the current recent US / Israeli attacks on Iran make certain when the current Iranian regime do get a nuclear war head , it will be heading swiftly to Tel Aviv .

The US and Israel are not formally allies at all. Israel has no declared borders and US State Department won't permit any formal US military alliance with any State without declared borders.

The US went to DEFCON 3 during the surprise Yom Kippur war, do you really think that the US-Israeli relationship wasn't already well established by this point? How about you try the 60s when HEU was smuggled into Israel, or when the US pressured states to recognise the state of Israel in 1947. Friedman is trying to downplay the power of AIPAC and the Israel lobby, and how the the transfer of Jewish financial wealth from Europe into the US in the late 19th and early 20th century created system leverage on the economy and politics.

@j.v.n

What about Israel lobby almost owning all the politicians in USA?

Could you talk to Mr Friedman about the expansion that Isreal is pursuing currently with annexation of West Bank and illegal settlements it's facilitating? He surely talked about defense point of view Isreal might have. But the aggression seems to part of something other than just defense!

@Michael-j4h

this is a rather limited view. you talk about Hezbollah being "a terrorist organization on Israel's border" leaving out the fact that hezbollah was a Lebonese reistence group to israeli occupation. it is easy to paint one side bad and the other good, when you cherry pick your facts

There is no fracturing and i dont take Trump's words seriously. He says one thing in one post and then completely opposite thing in just another post. If there is a fracture then it will be most visible in Congress's unanimously blocking billions of dollar in aids which goes to that parasite in middleeast which is sucking the blood of ordinary hardworking american

You can say what you want and predict what you want, but the fact of the matter is that Israel as a state will not last in the long term. It is an artificially created state for the Jews of Europe by guilt- ridden European powers supported by the United States. By bringing in the argument of divine right to the territory by the Jews, Israel has written up its own demise. Israel is bringing upon its people a second Holocaust units arrogant and apartheid behavior.

@worldwatcher9671

Wow, how can you discuss US support for Israel without recognizing the role of evangelicals in the US?!!?!?
