We may not have the Lincoln Pyramid today, but the century old monument that we know as the Lincoln Memorial features an intentional nod to the Egyptians. How, you ask? Simple. An engineering optical illusion. The monument looks like it's full of straight lines. In fact, the Doric columns and temple walls actually lean inwards! Extend the silhouette of the side lines upward, and the Memorial becomes a pyramid. Yup, the pyramid design is there. You just have to know where to look. Bet you can't unsee the tilting columns and walls...

@qiannivan5287The Washington monument was also almost not built too. Washington himself said it was a waste of resources, but after he died he had no say as he had no words as he was dead, so they built it then.
