Video Overview & Insights

US economy does well… TLDR angry. US economy doesn’t do well… TLDR angry

— @averagejoe5016

Since Trump's return to office, the US dollar has been having a rough time. But, for the past couple of weeks, the dollar appears to be on the up. In this video, we're taking a look at why this might be happening and why it's not necessarily a good sign.

📰 Too Long: https://toolong.news/

Pure garbage.
In 2022 one US dollar brought 1.03 euro, now it buys only 87 cents (euro)… not exactly a surge….

Trump is bad for predictability, and people invest when they feel confident in the future position. Trump makes that hard so people don't want to risk their capital over here because trump having one bad day could ruin massive investments.

This channel keeps saying the dollar this the dollar that, but the exchange rate between my country's currency and the dollar hasn't changed at all this year.

LOL ... strong US dollar and economy. For the elite rich maybe. And because countries are forced to get their hands on the "petro" dollar to buy oil, all due to trump's illegal war.

@ThinkerThunker

Okay that is the fundamental analysis what about the technical analysis. I brought some $$ because it hit a trend line going back since 2011. A trend line it has hit about 4X and then bounces off.

Have you fact checked the 'AI companies are making massive profits' line? I've not heard from anywhere that any AI companies make money. They're getting massive funding, but profits are nowhere to be seen

String of “surprisingly good numbers”? Have you guys missed the news when Trump sack the government head statistician because he gave news Trump did not want to hear? Who do you think they replace him? A sycophant that tells him what he wants to hear!

3:29 Wait are you suggesting OpenAi is making massive profits? And even then, they've been very clearly pouring everything they have into data centers and development. Im not sure where that idea that they have massive profits they dont know what to do with comes

Investors putting their money into the United States when there is a risk of a major financial crisis or business crisis or economic crisis in the United States sounds like the stories about horses running into barns that are on fire because they have always seen the barn as a safe place to be in an emergency.

Do horses really do that?.

Are major investors smarter than horses?

@JBMorris9

I’ve been tracking the USD and the DXY for some 30 years. If anyone bothered to look at the historical data what you will always see going all the way back to Ronny is that when conservatives are charge the dollar tanks, and when they are not it pumps.

This isn’t consequential. It’s long been a pinnacle/core conservative economic strategy used in most western nations to do this. A lower dollar favours exporters and International companies (the rich).

It really is that simple.

@Strobie_one
@

You can’t predict the US economy, you just cant.

AI companies making so much profit?🤨

@BFA-t3k

The dollar surging while inflation is also surging. Another sign that we're living in a post-reality economy.

Claiming that the war in Iran is ending is just absurd. The AI companies continue to lose massive amounts of money, yet the insane markets value them as if they're hugely profitable. And it's blatantly obvious that the Trump administration is cooking the books on inflation and job creation. That's the entire reason Trump fired the BLS commissioner, so that he could install somebody who'd cook the books for him. And the fact that anybody actually believes Kevin Warsh isn't a crazy Trump sycophant shows that millions of people desperately need psychiatric treatment. Likewise for people who think the US dollar is still the safest asset, even under the nutcase Trump administration.

@RedXlV
@

The war in Iran isn't even close to done and AI companies are losing money hand over fist

The difference between the 2008 crisis dollar run up and now is own to a distinction between forced systemic liquidation and voluntary yield-chasing. Macro metrics looks good vs the basket, market was worried about Fed chair being captured by Trump so had priced in some of that. Now the signals are right money flows in.
