The Offspring in the intro? Peak.
@TheJudge287Baby boomers were born following the end of World War II. Their parents were broke AF. Gen Z will be fine. Have babies.
@nicoleco28I completely agree with them. I've got four kids and it's crazy expensive. I worry about their futures and what will be left for them. But as we all get older and there's no younger people to take over jobs, etc it will be everyone's business. Not saying that's a reason to pop out a bunch of kids but we will have to do a lot of thinking and reworking of our system, (which we need to anyway) and what it will look like and how it will work and we needed to have started about 10 years ago to be prepared for such drastically smaller generations so quickly.
@Beboop-117:06 I have a teenager.. it doesn't help that he's been fear mongered against anything that's not "all natural" and refuses to eat the cheap stuff...
Edit: I commented before the add 😅
I mainly dont understand why conservatist are "solving" birth rates falling down, by punishing and fighting those who dont want kids. Majority of people want kids but cant affort to have them. Why dont they focus on those who want to have kids but cant, when these people are doing majority of population?
@tomasstrategyThis is such a terrible take. I'm not advocating for people having babies but saying all this is none of our business will only make everything worse for us all when we have to clean all this up decades later than it should have been fixed.
@itisyerdadI want to have at least 5 black children.
@SunnySideDown-j3gI'm gen z. I have a baby. I don't regret my son for myself. But I feel bad for bringing him into the world as it is. I hope it's better for him when he's my age.
@lunamelendez5I'm being completely honest here. We need to get off the Internet and actually talk to one another to actually fix this. We don't have kids to keep us out of the street to practice our right to protest. As cheesy as it sounds that's the reason that "brain rot" was even invented. Class consciousness is important to change. The upper class doesn't want change. None of us in this comment section are of those people.
Get out in the street with your friends and go riot
A whole seven buckaroos an hour? Yippee!
@mikemcknight1104I rather have a robot in the carehome then gen alpha
@5e5-666The negotiating power of wage workers is inversely proportional to the reserve army of labour, if there are less people, higher wages and conditions can be negotiated. The more people there are, the more disposable you are. The less people there are, the more every life matters. That's all us common people need to remember. Let the rich cry.
@unavailable-w5uIt’s a big deal we aren’t having kids bc we’ll be replaced in our own countries and it won’t be a good outcome when it happens
@CockTortureJutsuthe obvious aspect of declining birth rates that is often overlooked is that many, many women in the past had children under duress and coercion. women now have an active choice in whether to have children or not, and this is a GOOD thing! less women forced to bear children is ALWAYS a positive
@morgancoleman1457"– they think AI will take over the job market except their own –"
meanwhile me to my friends as a computer science major and artist: i'm gonna be double unemployed!!!!!! :D
What I find funny more than anything is not the economic or cultural arguments but the people who genuinely think humanity will go extinct if we don't have kids. Like... the arguments were already stupid but that is just next level.
@thisisutubnottwitterwhyhandlesLet the Rich Greedy Billionaires inherit the Earth so they become lonely asf
@artpal7084At some point, i think we should stop giving birth for now for the earth to breathe 😂.
@loisaaaa225Let it crash and burn
@Corrosive_RegentI know this is a hard pill for a lot of people to swallow, but truth isn’t always comfortable. One reason birth rates are declining is that more people are questioning the morality of creating a person at all. Every child we create is guaranteed to experience pain, loss, disease, fear, and death, all because of a decision someone else made. There is no unborn person waiting to miss out on life, but there is a real person who will bear every consequence once they’re created.
That’s a profound ethical question that society has largely ignored because having children has always been treated as an unquestioned default. As more people step back and examine it philosophically rather than culturally, it’s not surprising that birth rates are falling. Whether people agree or disagree, it’s a conversation that’s only going to become more and more common.
Furthermore, I am a 47 year old man who never got married and never had kids. I haven’t argued with anybody in 12 years (my las romantic relationship), I learn new skills and hobbies, I’m healthy and fit, I have very little stress by design (no kids, no spouse, no debt), I go where I want, when I want, and have no financial responsibilities for anybody other than myself and my dog, who I try to give the best possible life to. I bring this up because my nieces and nephews compare and contrast MY life with their parents who are always fighting, stressed out, and have constant money issues and they both make more than me.
Kids are a luxury in this economy. Plain and simple.
@dr.bright8020AI companies are bleeding money, but they're going to cover the tax cost of workers they inadvertently lay off? what an absolute joke. we need to stop writing laws in the hope that AI will somehow be profitable in the future, and stop throwing all of that money away. Generative AI will never be profitable, OR useful to society.
@RoboBro2002Next introducing: The Apple Condom!
-> Its a normal condom just with a hole at the top
Honestly as a millennial there are days where I wish I didn't have children not because I don't love my kids I absolutely adore them They are the weirdest little bastards and I love them for it but I don't know what they're going to have when they go out into the world themselves and I've already told them don't reproduce You won't have the money to survive I don't even know if they'll be able to move away from me that's how bad this place is
@Silveria-et8ryin the workspaces they are already replacing us with AI and they want us to make kids just so that they can replace them too?
@GojoFangirl2It's actually a severely religious upbringing that literally terrified me against getting pregnant. I was told it would ruin my life for like 10 years. So lo and behold, I count every year of not being another shameful teen statistic. In my 30s
@KristenMiller-ue2ysSaying Gen Z is selfish for not having kids is so incredibly ironic. What’s more selfish than having a kid that you know damn well you can’t afford to provide a good quality of life for?? If you ask me, choosing to not force another human being to suffer is very respectable!
@S_R_B-b9lIt's the economy
@thecooldude71I'm a 32yo millennial and weirdly enough, this video felt optimistic for me😅 I don't have children, didn't feel like I can have them...but the thing you said, about children born now growing up, and having less competition on the job market🤯 that sounds great! Maybe it's not such a bad idea 🤔 but again, first I would like to have my own, big enough place, so hopefully by the time I'll be 35 I could think about children😅
Fortunately I live in Poland, so we have public healthcare and some support from the government, but for the overall society it's not enough, we have one of the lowest birthrates in Europe.
Another fun fact: there is a correlation between introduction of smartphones and decline of births. Its not necessarily a cosation, but definitely something to think about🫠
CHILDLESS SOCIETY LET'S GO! WE'RE GOING DOWN ALONE JUST LIKE WE WERE MEANT TO BE!
@copium2768How the hell is it ever selfish to not have kids? I’d argue that actively making the choice of not bringing a child to suffer in the world is inherently selfless
@mu3191Theoricaly the solution of this problems would tax the rich BUT cut the taxes on little business and conpanies while the gorvenment should start to remove their burocratic part of this subject, like the gorvenment putting taxes on marriage but also helping familys to grown up
