Why SLOW IS BETTER in language learning

I saw a video called Natural Learning where he talks about building Language Islands. What is your input on this topic and do you suggest it?

The more I listen to you, the more I realize how your approach resonates with me. I tried quite a few different things to learn languages before, but it all comes down to the basics eventually, which you explain, and which seems to work the best of all.

What about languages like Taiwanese that don't have a standardized writing system?

Chaque matin, je me réveille, je prépare une tasse de thé, j’étudie le français, et j’aime vraiment ce moment. Je fais cela depuis quatre ans. Je suis tombée sur des influenceurs qui prétendaient qu’on pouvait apprendre une langue en trois mois, six mois, etc. Après un an, je me suis sentie assez bête. Ou, peut‑être qu’à soixante ans on n’est plus censée apprendre une langue étrangère. Mais, j’aimais trop ça, alors je n’ai pas arrêté. As always, thank you for the validation. As Steve says, going slowly applies to other fields as well. For example, learning to play chess well is a very slow process. Still, the internet is full of false promises about quickly achieving a high rating. Most of it is just clickbait. As all these false language learning promises.

To make listening easy for yourself, whenever you are listening a video in the language you are learning or radio - focus a statement at a time then the next one and so on. It works for me.
