Reading books helps people concentrate better and understand information more deeply than reading on digital screens.
Key Drivers:
People spend more time using phones, tablets, and computers. Screens often encourage quick reading instead of deep reading. The video highlights the advantages of reading printed books.
My Insight:
The video made me realize that books can improve focus and understanding. Although screens are convenient, books may provide a better reading experience.

I think reading paper books is good for me because it keeps me away from my smartphone and helps me concentrate on the world of the book.
Also, I love typography, so I think fonts are important for expressing the world of a novel. Digital books often do not express that atmosphere well enough.

It's not about what we read, but how we read. This video perfectly explains why my attention span feels so bad after reading on a screen all day. Thank you for the insight.

The topic is highly fascinating to consider.
Though, my being familiar with the new words, I've still found a new one to assimilate.
As I glance at myself, I'm used to applying both reading a paper book and on a screen. My situation is also like people who left comments below. Owing to the inaccessibility and insufficiency of numerous books in my country that I want to read I'm desperate to sit on my chair by looking at a screen. In addition, what I noticed while reading on a screen is I became losing my concentration rather than a minute. So, I gotta fix that.
Had you asked me to give advice, I would've said be circumspect to your eyes in an attempt to preserve it.
Thanks a decillion, BBC!

Main Ideas: Reading books is better for our eyes and brain than reading on screens for a long time. Books help people focus more and understand information deeply.
Key Drivers: Books help improve imagination and reading skills. In the other hand, screens can make people tired and reduce concentration.
My insight: In my opinion, I think books are better than screens for studying and relaxing. When I read a book, I can focus more easily and remember information longer.
1. My attention span always become shorter when I study for many hours without any breaks
2. On the surface level, the movie looks funny..
3. The teacher used an analogy to explain the lesson.
4. After listening to her voice, I made an inference that she was feeling excited about that news.
5. I used skimming to read the article quickly.
The new book''s paper's smell is amazing. It remind''s my childhood.
@rayhanislam7196I think its not what you read upon, its whether you read enough. The idea that a paper book is better is just a traditional thing. After all, if you need extra information to explain what you have read, just click a picture or typed info, this is not possible on paper . down load a book and it will be full of all that a paper one has, and more.
@keithdenyer3937I would like to say that reading any text from book or news or paper is healthy for our brain . Reading a text or something from comp or phone is harmful for us
@nicatahmed7827I prefer reading the paper book, because it is more healthy for my eyes, not so tired compared from screen. If I use for reading the screen of mobile phone, my eyes become sore. I suggest that the reading of paper book impact on my literacy and deep meaningful. I have a possibility to analyze and do the inference . Thanks for this program. It's so useful

@EfriYaniiThere's nothing like listening BBC every day
@Haphuong-2505For me,I prefer reading books ,not online.I love turning pages and the smell of the paper. And then, personally the feeling that I 'm holding books makes me more comfort ,increasing my attention span and deeply understanding what i am doing. But books are price gouging nowadays and going for more than we enough. However,I can't read books online as a glass wearing person,it makes me sore eyes for focus on words .As a book lovers, reading books from borrowing libraries makes us afford and comfortable .And then,we easily find out the place where we can read books quietly
@ေဇာ္ဟိန္းထက္လိူင္It means new generation will only get surface level education and information as Gen z.while who born in 80 to 90 are more educated ..😂
@azazuddin1919Happy Book Day! 📚

@ellesircusWell after I watch that video, I have learned about important, unimportant, advantages and disadvantages of reading on screen or book. And for I refer read book because it’s not hurt my eyes to much as a screen and I can focus more.
@Olivia-09-YLWell, after watch the video. I have learn that Reading book is very critical and book are essential for us in our studying and also reading a book help us to activate different areas of the brain allowing us to have a positive think also Motivate us as well.
@Atomic_ShutouFrom the video by BBC Learning English, I learned that reading books is very good for our brain. Books help us focus better than screens because screens can easily distract us. When we read on a phone, we often read quickly and do not think deeply. However, reading paper books helps us understand and remember more information. Even though technology is useful, real books are still very important for learning and improving our concentration.
@PhearakSophalI really like reading books on the outside because it's more easier and more cheaper unlike some apps in the phone. The apps in the phone sometimes harm our eyes.
@Leakhena-g2vMost of the time I read from a screen.I know that's not good for my eyes but in our country buying a book is not a cheap task.We have to paid a lot of moneys,if we want to read with a book.Actually,I prefer read from a book more. But that's not convenient in our country that's why I often read from a screen.I am from Myanmar btw. Thanks BBC for giving us advices and helping us learning English everyday.

@Abdifitahabdullahi8654You are awesome
@vinaparmar8374I prefer reading paper books, to smell pages, highlight important information and make notes. When I read an article, I noticed that it is only skimming. I remember reading but not a whole idea. If you a eco-friendly person you might asked me what I do with finished book… I give her second life or leave to next time.
@vostapiukThanks BBC , for this episode it was beneficial for me. During this episode, I learned new informations about reading in books . Also, I learned new words and I practiced shadowing to improve my accent British and improve my speaking in English. In my opinion, I would prefer reading in books not screens. Because, the reading in screens not beneficial for anyone. For more reasons, screens is damages our eyes and our health . But , the reading in books has very benefits because not dangerous. You can read what do you want in anytime from anywhere without heart your eyes
@MohamedIbraheem-g3fAh yes, the kind of conversation from English Listening homework and test
@shuyona7780I personally prefer reading from books rather than screens. I suffer from extreme eye strain due to some past experiences. Reading from books is much more convenient. However, purchasing books is costly and not a good choice for a student who relies on pocket money or their parents. Nevertheless, reading is what gives me joy, regardless of the medium used.
@JaveriaChangaiz-c1y100 thousand words is not it too much😮.
