I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but all devices that connect to a tower are traceable
I got a flip phone for my oldest son and I track him...this is done through Tower access and pings that are sent out regardless of the device.
I'll say this, you do remove yourself from the Google stuff decently...
Flip phone are just useless and obsolete today except for calling someone with a phone number. The only useful things it does.

@ToniLewis-q7fIn Australia it's a different story if you want anonymity, over here you can pay in cash for a phone but you unfortunately cannot get a prepaid service without ID verification, and I'm not referring to digital ID just your standard identification is required before activation, I wish it was possible to do what you guys do if you want total anonymity.

@JoseRamirez-xe2hhtelecommunications act of 1996 all cellular phones will be track-able within three meters whether they are turned on or not ... this is why remove-able batteries are so hard to find now .. and now they can track you within a three centimeter accuracy ... they can use your phone to drone drop a brick on your head

@Buc-eesGurlI’ve heard a few things I bought a flip phone thinking it would be a good dumb phone and not get tracked. I’m not saying I was tracked but, I’ve heard that if the store like Walmart activates your phone, it can still be possibly tracked because they distribute phones with this whole idea in mind that people are trying to get away from being tracked. (that’s a hint for those that know about 10 years ago, they found almost invisible chips inside smartphones from China such as iPhone )Another thing is I’ve also heard that your phone still gonna ping off a tower and show where you are at that time but maybe like you said you won’t get tracked because of the apps and stuff that you don’t have. Also, I heard that if a phone cannot at all connect to a Wi-Fi or be used in any way at all such as a smart phone then maybe you’re OK.
