All of that and you missed out the obvious: The people that claim german sounds harsh have rarely heard genuine germans speaking in a normal way. Their main source is Hit_ler speeches, Rammstein lyrics, non-native actors uttering some lines in movies (usually villains) and comedians that are exaggerating on purpose. And I never understood the hate on compound words. Basically every language has them, they just don't WRITE them together. In english it's police station, in german it's Polizeiwache, only difference being that, when you read it, you know what belongs together. There is a difference between "Da steht die Polzeiwache" ("the police station is over there") and "Da steht die Polizei Wache" ("over there the police is watching"). Also, whenever comedians or talk shows mention ridiculously long german compound words they are made up or at the very least words absolutely no one would use. And half of them are laws in which case they are more or less a NAME for that law.

Japan: uhhhhh, why aren’t we treated so badly.
As a note, even in east Asia Japanese as a language isn’t seen int h same way as German is in Europe. I think the only person who I have met who stereotyped Japanese in the same way Europeans stereotype German was an old South Korean lady. (Long story lmao_.
Is htis just my experience?

Schnuppernase.
Und ruhet weiter süß im Dunkeln,
Derweil die Sternlein traulich funkeln.
Und in der guten Stube drinnen,
da läuft des Försters Blut von hinnen. Nun muß die Försterin sich eilen,
den Gatten sauber zu zerteilen.
Schnell hat sie ihn bis auf die Knochen
nach Waidmanns Sitte aufgebrochen.
Voll Sorgfalt legt sie Glied auf Glied
- was der Gemahl bisher vermied -
Behält ein Teil Filet zurück,
als festtägliches Bratenstück.
Und packt zum Schluss - es geht auf
vier -
die Reste in Geschenkpapier.
Da dröhnt's von fern wie
Silberschellen.
Im Dorfe hört man Hunde bellen.
Wer ist's, der in so tiefer Nacht
im Schnee noch seine Runde macht?
Knecht Ruprecht kommt mit gold’nem
Schlitten
auf einem Hirsch herangeritten!
»He, gute Frau, habt ihr noch Sachen,
die armen Menschen Freude
machen?«
Des Försters Haus ist tief verschneit,
doch seine Frau steht schon bereit:
»Die sechs Pakete, heil'ger Mann,
's ist alles, was ich geben kann!«
Die Silberschellen klingen leise.
Knecht Ruprecht macht sich auf die
Reise.
Im Försterhaus die Kerze brennt.
Ein Sternlein blinkt:
Es ist Advent.

I don't think German sounds aggressive. It has its moments but can also sound quite melodic.
Most German sounds exist also in English . I might have to travel the country to hear them all but they exit. In Minnesota I can hear umlauted vowels. In parts of Appalachia settled by Scotch Irish immigrants I have heard "ach". And if glottal stops are inherently aggressive then go to London's East End to feel completely threatened.

I beg to differ. 😂 Oh, well, being a somewhat different kind of fan, I want to share something... remarkable. My German is limited, but since I love classical German composers, I know many of the lyrics of their songs. Also, being a music lover and an amateur guitar player, I'm good with all things musical. And I'm a computer scientist. 😊 What I'm trying to say is, "I'm getting wonderful results using my German (!) lyrics, my short guitar riffs and some clever prompt engineering. I want to share a song I created with the help of generational artificial intelligence. I want to share it with you and learn about your reaction. As a fluent English and Spanish speaker, the German language sounds really Cool to me, it isn't bad sounding at all, especially with some of the past German influence in Texas with names like Schultz.

I'm a born TexMex and my Dad said he learned some German from an elder neighbor back when he was a kid in the 40's here in Austin Tx.
