Why Finland’s Education System is a Global Game-Changer?

Video Overview & Insights

Discover how Finland, a small nation with a big vision, has redefined the global education landscape! In this video, we unravel the six critical flaws—'germs'—that Finland addressed to create a world-class education system. From eliminating overloaded curriculums to reducing excessive testing, Finland's approach offers a blueprint for educational reform.

I always wondered what the student population of the students were like in Finland compared to the US. Do they have inner city socioeconomic disadvantaged students. Cultures that place no value on education? Many families in the US simply view school as free baby sitting, free breakfast, free lunch. They couldn't care less or support their child's learning less.

I don't know if I would brag too much about the education in Finland. Their entire country has a GDP that's actually smaller than our state of Alabama. And they are a member of nato, which means they live under the umbrella of our military protection paid for by our tax dollars. Sorry if I'm less than overwhelmed

While Finland’s education system is often hailed as a model of success, it raises questions about its scalability in other countries. The emphasis on teacher autonomy and minimal standardized testing works well in a culturally homogenous and affluent society like Finland. Still, it might not be as effective in places with diverse challenges or resources. Additionally, while the holistic approach fosters creativity and well-being, it might leave some students unprepared for the highly competitive and standardized environments they may encounter later in life. It's worth considering whether this system could be adapted globally without significant adjustments.

I think Finland Education is a great idea, because it’s a littler similar to when I was at school, the teachers had more of a free rein and taught rather than all of the statistics that go with it in the Uk today. I didn’t have any sats or tests until last year at primary school just to get us all ready for secondary school. I loved primary school, not secondary so much as I found it quite difficult, used to come home with loads of headaches - children shouldn’t have to be like that and get stressed at their ages.

This information is outdated. Finland's education system has been declining for over a decade now, and it is no longer in the top.

I wonder what the population density of Finland is compared to America. The America schools are development children dumpster. The developers decide everything here now. The school design and system is based on the housing project and not the other way around. They’re not thinking about the school and other parts of life first and then building housing.

It’s insane because instead of humans thinking about what they are going to be doing they’re just throwing up a house. Even their house and yard is non function. I’m pretty sure that in Finland most people probably do some food growing in their yard. In America their plan is to live closer to each other so they can go next door and borrow stuff. I don’t know how the person they borrow from is going to get it but he has lots of people around him to borrow.

Finland's education isn't the BEST and not that good than around the World like in Japan where the school and work are the most important things or USA highschool and Harvard university, but in my opinion as a finnish living in here Northen Europe's Finland we have the BEST and the SAFEST schools in the World where everyone can have a school for FREE and even the food what's not always good, but it's FREE too over 70 years we had a free food i'm 21 years old and I'll still say the school and the vocational school defienitily the school years in my childhood was the BEST time in my life Finland schools and education system are that good and everyone are welcome! Finland mentoined: Suomi mainittu torilla tavataan! 🇫🇮
