For some, this new reality reflects changing social attitudes and a desire not to have children, but for others, the decision has been taken out of their hands by a range of factors. The latest statistics available reflect the extent to which this has become a global phenomenon. In the US, the birth rate is at a record low and China reported its first population decline in six decades in 2022.

Hmm

The BBC’s population correspondent Stephanie Hegarty tells host Lucy Hockings that economic concerns are among the most important when it comes to individuals and couples deciding whether or not the time is right to have a baby, and discusses how the concept of “male malaise” is impacting fertility rates.

Wonder why the fertility rate is down. Its all the covid shot . Theses poor babies being born today are full of spike protein. How long will they live ? Not good at all.

08:20 Why are more young men childless?

09:59 Male malaise

You have fewer births, because you invest your money in immigrants and african countries and wars. Immigrants have no problem with births...

12:07 An ageing population

Climate change is way more important and urgent than birth rate. There are so many children in countries with low income than importing young people will happen eventually but climate change is happening now and that should be our highest priority.

it is an atrocity to bring innocent girls and boys into this world plagued by misfortune, inequality, poverty, violence, wars, genocide, rape, dwindling natural resources, pollution, unemployment, etc., etc., etc... Bringing innocent beings into this hell created by the way we see, feel, think, and the concepts of masculinity and its laws of the strongest and the most cunning, and the ends justifying the means, just because billionaires need cheap labor, soldiers for their wars, girls and women to rape and deny abortion to, so they can obtain more cheap labor and men to fill with hatred, anger, insensitivity, frustration, and inhumanity so they will do their dirty work and the cycle repeats itself again and again.

I know this is a hard pill for a lot of people to swallow, but truth isn’t always comfortable. One reason birth rates are declining is that more people are questioning the morality of creating a person at all. Every child we create is guaranteed to experience pain, loss, disease, fear, and death, all because of a decision someone else made. There is no unborn person waiting to miss out on life, but there is a real person who will bear every consequence once they’re created.

That’s a profound ethical question that society has largely ignored because having children has always been treated as an unquestioned default. As more people step back and examine it philosophically rather than culturally, it’s not surprising that birth rates are falling. Whether people agree or disagree, it’s a conversation that’s only going to become more and more common.

Furthermore, I am a 47 year old man who never got married and never had kids. I haven’t argued with anybody in 12 years (my las romantic relationship), I learn new skills and hobbies, I’m healthy and fit, I have very little stress by design (no kids, no spouse, no debt), I go where I want, when I want, and have no financial responsibilities for anybody other than myself and my dog, who I try to give the best possible life to. I bring this up because my nieces and nephews compare and contrast MY life with their parents who are always fighting, stressed out, and have constant money issues and they both make more than me.

Most people tend to have kids for all of the wrong reasons and they treat their kids as “props” instead of people.

@Somethinginthewind-q5l
@

We can't afford them, even if we wanted them, that's why. Plus even if we can afford them we don't have the energy after working so much to afford them. There will be no jobs or future for them anyway, so unless you are super rich and can guarantee them enough money to live on, it's irresponsible.

Kids require financial stability and time to spend with them that is not happening we work hard to aim the financial purposes then we get no time to spend with our kids .. then kids won’t be happy

When we all wake up you have a powerful enemy that came to kill steal and destroy. it's happening worldwide. Put everything on the plate and start connecting the dots you'll see the conspiracy theories are holding true. Government wanted more money the rich Masters wanted more slaves so they broke up the family unit. They all work for evil there are good some rich people and good some government folks however the evil one has put the people who chooses that will do his bidding. We went from hunter-gatherers keeping life simple to now going on a grind for a fake system where we're being controlled by everything. We were blocked from having minimal laws that make a lot of common sense and efficient homes to include the whole Spectrum. Why because people want to become rich and Elite and control everything and manipulate everything. When will you wake up and see it's a battle between good and evil always has been. Family and life is beautiful this Earth if man is correctly and we didn't try to become gods you know smashing particles together, manipulating weather, manipulating food, try to create babies, I'm trying to clone, trying to create artificial intelligence and robots to replace this, if we would stop playing God then just maybe it would have worked. But this is the price of evil the sin the selfishness. Although everything is supposed to happen and brace for impact but this is your Awakening you just have to admit and see the truth and be Seekers of the truth.

Fix action proposal plan for fatherless homes, divorce discouragement, and family rebuilding.
Since the government got into our business with the family and didn't even properly calculate, analyze, and pay attention to the data as of current this will be the only fix action if not a collapse will have to come to rebuild.
1. Get rid of no fault divorce- someone has to cheat and there has to be actual proof of abuse and or both. Alimony will not exist unless one person was to stay at home and if they stay home was cheated on and or abused with proof then they can get alimony up to one year at the current payment of the bills at 50%.
2. Community Law must be redone- if the partners invest in a business, home, or some type of profitable asset then depending on how much partner a and partner B put into it is a percentage they can yield from the profits. So if partner is paying all the mortgage and partner B is not paying at all the partner B does not receive any escrow. But if partner me puts in 10% then they can receive the 10% profit of escrow this is just a Baseline formula example. If partner B did not put nothing in then partner B will not receive nothing.
3. Mandatory DNA testing at Birth and if woman is found with fraudulent claims they shall go to jail for fraud. If a DNA test comes out with a couple that's already had a child and the father has found out that the kid is not theirs then the mother will have to reimburse all the years of said child or children to compensate to also include mental toll compensation on top of that. Then the mother will have to do double the amount of years but the fraud was claimed for in Maximum Security Prison.
4. Mandatory 50% of children. In this case no child support will be awarded only half on medical. - if one of the parents has the child or children 100% of the time then child support will be mandatory at all bills at 50% for example in this case if the electric bill was $100 and it was only one mother and one child then 50% of that or $50 would be the child's take however the father would only have to pay $25 because that's half of what the kid is using and he's covering down on his proportion. Because if you want full quality if they were together and both paying bills which is the normal nowadays it would be 50/50 unless it was compensated in other parts of the bills or there was one Sole Provider that if they agreed upon. Now let's say if parent a mother or father has a child 60% of the time and the other parent 40% of the time then the same calculation will be broken down of the usage of the child or children.
5. No more assistant judges, and judges have to be required to do a detective class to seek the truth instead of being a lawyer with bias yes they should have lawyer experience but also have a Detective seeking classes and training to also include integrity testing to actually fight for what's fair right and the truth.
6. Lastly for all this that was mentioned above has to be implied to the people after this law that comes out therefore wronging the rights before this law was put into place. It might hold the justice system for a minute but it will write the wrongs of the abuse system.
7. Conclusion we have been using simple black and white quick answers, seeing the system be abused from usually on the mother side, to courthouses raking in money with lawyers, and the harsh data that's coming out now. Whether it be a certain percentage of prisoners coming from broken families AKA single mother households, to women not having consequences falsifying me too claims, to getting divorced because their friends are doing it and/or their bored, to the lack of accountability, to emotionally unstable men usually raised by single mothers, to overpriced Society and manipulation of corporate greed, to a whole spectrum of issues. The nuclear family was the key and powers that be whether you believe in good or evil came to kill still and destroy and that was a big Target. Thoughts and prayers God bless brothers and sisters out there even if you don't believe I still hope the best for you in our society and our world

I understand there’s a fertility crisis and that we need to talk about it. But a lot of people blame “feminism” for it and use it as an excuse that there shouldn’t be gender equality. As a woman, it’s scary that people are using this to say I shouldn’t have equal rights, and that alone is reason enough to reject that system. But remember, no one is treated well under that system.

If you’re a man reading this, you should be just as scared of that system as I am: If it hurt women, then what do you think it’s going to do to you? Where do you think the phrase “MAN UP” and “men don’t cry” or being valued only for your salary, came from? I’m not a feminist, nor an antifeminist, I don’t like labels. But feminism didn’t create those things. Feminism only antagonizes men because women feel hurt by men, and the entire movement is women’s reaction to the pain of that, and that deserves empathy. I think the same is true for antifeminism (men’s reaction to their pain), even if that movement does scare me, I always try to understand more and judge less. Cause the more you understand, the more you love.

Kindness is like oxygen: We all need it. And maybe we’re all suffocating each other a little bit. We’re far more similar than we thought, you and I. For all of us are fighting a hard battle. I love you. :)

I’m Gen x. When I was starting out, in my country at least, if you had a full time job, you could manage financially, even if it was minimum wage. Now people on low incomes can’t afford housing. Homelessness existed back then, but few people were sleeping rough. Now you go out and you see hundreds of people sleeping rough. It’s dramatically worse than it used to be. Then you have climate change with an increase in natural disasters and the threat of a world war three catastrophe hasn’t gone away either. I have never felt this pessimistic or seen such levels of pessimism around me ever. People are more exhausted and less happy than they were thirty years ago. I personally am dreading my old age due to the fear of poverty and I’m praying I die before my superannuation runs out. I have two children one in their twenties the second still a teen. Neither of them want children. And why would you? The world is a depressing place now, and we have lost our hope and our optimism.

Bringing a child into the world is inherently unethical because it forces inevitable suffering—disease, aging, loss, and death—onto someone who never consented to exist. No one has the right to destroy perfect peace just to drag another person into a Russian roulette of fragile happiness and certain pain. As David Benatar’s asymmetry argument points out, non-existence is not a loss because there is no one there to miss the joy, but avoiding pain is an absolute win. Ethically and morally, non-existence is simply superior.

Procreation is an act of structural violence. It forces a new life into a lifelong system of suffering just to fulfill the parents' desires or social pressures, leaving the child to pay the price. If love were truly altruistic, we would drop our ego and choose the absolute certainty of no suffering over the fragile hope of happiness. Using someone's very existence in a high-stakes gamble without their consent isn't just wrong—it's a direct violation of human dignity under Kantian ethics.

Even if someone claims that "suffering builds character" or that "pain makes life meaningful," that logic can only apply to their own life. No one has the right to force that philosophy onto another. When we are in agony, no one can take our place. When we face death, no one can die for us. The burden of pain and mortality lies strictly with the individual. Ultimately, it is the child who will be left to bear that crushing weight entirely alone, in a desperation words cannot even describe. Could you honestly say it is okay if you were told to walk into excruciating pain right this second?

People easily romanticize suffering in debates, but when they face severe pain themselves, they don't look for meaning—they desperately try to escape it. It is profoundly hypocritical to so easily force onto others the very suffering we dread for ourselves. Bringing a life into this world simply to pass on one's genes or to satisfy a personal desire to raise a child is using another human being's existence as collateral. That is not noble love; it is profound narcissism and fundamental selfishness.
