Why FC 26 Can't Be A Competitive Game

these games will never ever be serious competitive games until:
1) The defender who's keeping everyone onside while the other 3 defenders are holding a perfect line 30 yards ahead is shot and killed.
2) Keeping the ball isn't seen as 'boring' by the game (this is part of a larger issue about tackling) and so stringing 3 passes together is punished by making your player 0.2x speed or have a terrible touch or pass compared to the ubermenschen that spawns in to take the ball off you giving the opponent a 10v1 attack because you decided to sit on a 5-0 lead in the 90+26' of your 90+2 added time.
3) Pressing actually presses as a team, not the player you control plus whoever is activated by holding rb. They block passing lanes and apply pressure as a team, sure leaving a gap for a long ball or good interplay but not just being run past by a 65 rated cb with 10 pace because only one person pushed up.

CS and Rocket League and all the fighting games are all good examples of pro games because doing the same thing will always result in the same outcome, it is purely a skill issue. As someone who doesn't want to force myself to score 23-0 just to avoid the opponent getting a momentum swing and scripting, it would be great if I could grind out a 2-0 win on career mode the real way instead of pretending to attack every 5 seconds just to go back again because the game gets bored if it doesn't think you're attacking every second.

the entire premise is fc ultimate team, the rest goes down the drain since a long time. it is for fourteen years old gathering cards. Spending money. There is the main focus. Not the gameplay for e-sports, not developing a club with a youth tournament or development that would actually get some love, and more or less, things stay almost the same, although the game is sold every year, the rigged gamplay against cpu is the worst. From unbeatable to letting you score just to keep the drama up, since years as well.

very wrong way to approach this situation, FC 26 is ONLY broken at 1v1. This game was never meant to be played competitively in 1v1 but 11v11 which is what true enthusiasts of EA FC games are playing. so saying that FC 26 as a whole is not a competitive game is completely wrong. The fact that EA only wants to rinse players for their money and does not focus on Pro clubs, which is much more fun and is a true competitive mode, does not mean that the whole game is not competitive, just because most people play it with robots, instead of other players....

Commenting at 1:21 i have played fc 26 online just to complete objectives to get player. So sometimes game is scripted so much that game itself doesnt allow u to change player who can stop the goal it just stands ther watching the show wthif and online players also use cheats so thats a headache.

said this alot of times and here I'm saying it again. the fact that EA announces more or less the same game every year and it's dumb fan base buys it like crazy gives EA absolutely ZERO reason to put any efforts into making the game any better. the community is the bigger problem compared to EA

The problem is that youre expecting a football game to being purely focused on it's competitive aspects. Most of the new development in interactions and gameplay is to be realistic, not to have variety. In reality, there are usually only a couple formations that consistently win or are used more often, such as the 4-3-3 or 4,1,2,3.

I feel like 1v1 is not a good comp, watching a full team would be better because they can actually come up with set-piece tactics and other tactics, goalkeepers should be real players and not cpu as well, having a full team would be better to watch

FIFA/FC could never work in a competitive sense, whether it was Champs or the Pro League because EA quite obviously have some form of momentum/stat RNG in the game. It pervades every aspect of tackling, interceptions, skill moves, passing, Defensive AI and shots on target; and it’s been that way since the series started.

It’s quite simple, if the game’s RNG wants the opponent to breeze past you to create a goal scoring opportunity, your defender will turn into Prime Phil Jones. Goal.

If the opposite happens, they will perfectly tackle the striker and the resulting rebound becomes a through-ball that lands at your striker/CAM’s feet, straight run, 1v1, you score.

A 96 rated keeper, with all META playstyles can have a phenomenal game, and then an awful game back-to-back? You know it’s not entirely your, or your opponents fault.

They want the games to be more interesting, so 45th, 90th min and Kick-off goals are still prevalent to keep the game “balanced”.

There are obviously players who are better at the game than the average, but when even they say that it’s broken… It’s broken.

My main issue is with Pro Clubs. EA has allowed finesse and cross spamming to 7 foot tall strikers to b the meta that any other form of creative playing feels absolutely useless. Me and my squad play a tiki taka focused strategy but we constantly fail to even make 1 simple pass with our max level cards while a 70 level striker card jumps above 4 people and score the goal easily
