I’ve been posting for over 5 months now and it feels sometimes like a waste of time because I spend so much time lately making videos drawing with my foot but views stay very low. I started drawing with my foot and made a channel about the journey. I do enjoy making content but hope I find a community like finds this interesting.

@ARNSteveO-yr5fqThank you so much for this inspiring video ❤
@NabanitasCreationsI understand how you feel. I also enjoy documenting my art progress, though it takes time. I find it rewarding to see my journey unfold over the days. This practice motivates me to continue my artistic journey. By documenting my journey, I've gained clarity about what I want from my art and the direction I want to take with my drawing. Thank you for sharing your journey ❤

@LaLaTheHighVibeCoachPosting into the void is not enjoyable. The entire point to me is the community and the money. In that order. So making a video that took me 40hrs to create and then to have ZERO comments does hurt. But I also know that I cannot BUILD the community if I do not first endure the void for now. So, I persist. The community will come in time. I enjoy creating artwork. I do not enjoy stopping my creative process to make sure I got a good shot or made sure I smiled at the camera the right way or it was a good angle or I was funny, etc. no. I don’t enjoy that. It takes me away from my creative process. And I end up not painting as well cause I lost my flow. If someone else filmed for me while I just painted it would be best. But, we can’t all have a filming crew. It would also be an organic conversation cause they would be talking to me. And not me just staring at a camera. And editing is terrible cause I don’t have the hardware for it so I do it from my phone which takes absolutely forever. I need a computer. So for a 5 min video, it takes about 3 hours of editing. Terrible. And some of my videos are 30 or more mins. So that’s like 40 hrs of editing. So yea. I wish I had an editor. A lot of work. For no payout. Or even a conversation with a likeminded person. It gets exhausting. But, I continue. And honestly, I love my videos. I watch them back and I feel so good about what I’ve created. I may not like the process of going through it. But I guess that’s cause I’m disadvantaged everywhere I turn. I have a lot of challenges making the job harder. I probably wouldn’t be so grouchy about it if I had all the tools I needed. Who wouldn’t be frustrated with hardware that doesn’t really work right? But I watch my videos back and damn near squeal with excitement!!!
@chanellacreadoraThis was the video I needed today. Thank you, Tarra 💚
@nickydrewillustrationYou're right, honestly time have changed, i do things that keeps me in balance
@JoazilI appreciate the succinct videos filled with such valuable info. Kudos to you for sticking with it, even being knee-deep in diapersa! I just came from your video about NOT picking a single niche. That's a big reason holding me back from starting because I can't decide on just one of my artsy passions. Just subscribed and plan to refer to your videos as I plan my YT journey - fingers crossed & here goes nothin!
@changemymind06My focus has been all over the place and I don’t know how to start my journey in creating a autobiography type content to show the inner workings of the process of improving myself. I’ve felt like this for a long time. Idk where to start. So thank you, I have a clearer insight and one day I’ll thank you in my future video 🥰
@alinemonteiro6178Thank you Tarra, this was excellent advice and inspiration 🙏🏻 Many blessings 💕 with love from Italy 💐
@atelierVIVAThis is amazing, perfect timing literally about to start a YouTube channel. So exciting! Thanks for the tips xx
@LadylydiaartYou are so amazing ❤ I really needed your words today. Thank you!!
@renatachavsthis was so helpful seeing this
@BlackLotus-007Ah, don’t feel bad, it took me over 4 years to get monetized! And now look at me!😂Nah, I’m just being silly (but it did in fact take me years! 😅) What you’re saying here is truly great advice. The artists I’ve had the privilege to meet and connect with over the last few years is PRICELESS. Some I would’ve never believed would give me the time of day, but they’re usually the warmest most humble souls who like all of us creatives on here are longing to make soulful connections. It’s such a beautiful thing to be a part of. I also really believe that even if you make videos, keep them private ie do publicize them and not many watch, you have a video diary and documentation of your art journey and process. That’s kind of what my channel was for me for the first few months. And that alone is worth a lot to be able to look back and literally see and hear the growth I’ve made. . I’m not much of a journal girly, so this has been a wonderful, way to look back and reflect on my art journey.
@debbiedrawsfunnyNew youtuber here...i cant wait to gain Subcribers. Thank you 4 this

@withjesusandducttapeThank you Tarra. What is stopping me? FEAR! lol
@zombiasnow1565I’ve had two YouTube channels for years but because I’m multi-craftual I haven’t been consistent with my content. I’m also 73 years old and am not sure where my “tribe” is. Until recently, I did not call myself an artist. My self definition has changed and I hope to be more consistent. I don’t have great technical skills but here goes! Thanks for your content!
@tricraftual4316Always motivate
@smiledailyacademyGlad i found your account. Love your channel!
@sakshiibaghelHello and happy new year to everyone! I’m thinking about creating a channel but what is holding me back a things that were not mentioned here, wonder if you thought about them:
- for me everything that becomes an obligation will cause me having high resistance against it, and that guides to losing contact to my creativity and I end up highly stressed. So making plans to post regularly is super overwhelming for me and could even be the end of the channel because of the reason I react to obligations
- I already try to document my creation for later use on instagram and my website, but I have the feeling that this documentation interferes with my creativity as well. I can’t just draw something - no I have to set up my phone first for capturing. Even though I have 2 tripods in positions where I usually draw, this extra step interrupts my flow. Even more so if I notice there is not enough disc space on my phone. In the end i usually capture all sorts of parts of the process, but not the ones, where the magic happens. Also for running out of disc space often there are pieces missing from the creation progress which are sometimes very important.
- I’m already overwhelmed with simply making time for my creative work plus making money. Both doesn’t seem to be too much but I become easily overwhelmed. This overwhelm guides to shut down survival mode where I try to get done as much as possible but become super superficial and generic in my message which then guides to not being successful. So this is both a concern I could become more overwhelmed but also my no 1 reason so start YouTube: to always remember to come back to meaning and depth. What you said about developing your messaging and personality spoke a lot to me
- I have the feeling as soon someone watches I loose my ability to be myself and loose the connection to my creativity because I’m too influenced by what people may think. I think that is part of the reason why the documentation process feels so interrupting.
- I tend to overshare. So I’m afraid I share things that are too personal and regret it later. Being seen as an artist and person is important, but also to protect ourselves. I don’t want to trade my vulnerability for attention.
Did you have similar worries and how did you overcome them?
