Why Blood Pressure is so Important

----

Will you make a video on vericose veins

— @RespectTheReef

In this video, Jonathan from the Institute of Human Anatomy explains the critical role blood pressure plays in your overall health. He discusses the factors that contribute to blood pressure such as the heart (cardiac out) and the blood vessels (systemic vascular resistance), as well as defines healthy blood pressure numbers and the different stages of hypertension. He also talks about risks and how unmanaged hypertension can affect your long term health, and more importantly, practical tips on how you can reduce your blood pressure and improve your cardiovascular health.

8:12 - 8:56 Why You Should Care About Blood Pressure: Let's Talk About Hypertension

8:57 - 9:38 The Risks of Hypertension: Organ Damage

If you start taking BP(Blood Pressure) medication, don't stop.

I was given some by a doctor, I did not take it seriously and I ended up not taking the medication anymore.
When I quit the medication, I had a stroke.

Apparently, the medication was thinning my blood. My body relaxed. Then when I stopped taking the medication, my blood got thick again and... cest la vie.

Lucky to be here. Lucky to be alive. Even if my life sucks, the rigged system made sure I didn't feel a change.

Because you mentioned it in your video, I had to mention it here. Even if you workout, the risk is still there. I was a sprinter.

9:39 - 9:54 High Blood Pressure and Its Relation to Aneurysms

9:55 - 12:22 How to Reduce Your Blood Pressure

This is the new view : not long ago 120/80 was perfect. And would not be considered high. Now the number needs to be lower and lower. To get under 120 and 80 most people will have to take medication to achieve those numbers.

I went to the doctors to get my blood pressure taken. I’d just arrived after a quick fast walk, sat down and they decided to take it then. For some reason it was high. No idea. Why

✅ How does blood pressure work in the body?

✅ What is the Goldilocks Principle in relation to blood pressure?

I exercise daily, but a few months ago my BP has spiked because i was feeling numbness in my hand, so i measured it and it was at 155/80, i went to the doctor and recommended to make certain adjustments, so i quit caffeine, red meat and starting drinking more water, reduced processed meals and sodium. The BP lower to 121/80 sustained. But in the recent days the BP ha increased again to 145/90 (sustained for 4 days), funny fact: i started having this symptoms when i started loosing weight.
So today im going to see a cardiologist to know whats going on. I guess i am lucky i was able to feel early the high pressure.

DASH died is a scam. I was on it for 10 years, no change. Only exercise showed results.
Then I started eating plenty of salt, and red meat, and then my blood pressure lowered so much more.
Starting 142/89 at 21 years old, no smoking or drinking at all.

Running 10k eveey other day for 2 years straight, zero exeptions, resulted to 132/82

A few years ago I started animal based diet by Dr Paul Saladino, and my numbers are 117-124 / 77-84.

Salt is not your enemy, sugar is. Do not listen to the "doctors" brainwashed by big farma. All they know is pills and "this diet".

Yes I was bitter that I was lied to, and that I was ignorant enough to not think for myself. Now Im happy, and reffer to respectable youtubers for real health advice.

In the 1960's systolic was normal at 100 + your age. That was proved to be wrong. ( I am 73 ) Lately, anything over 120 starts sending up warning flags. Also being proved wrong. The real number is somewhere in between. I'm OK with 140 and a diastolic in the 80's.

@rickj6048

Okay, but what if my sys is 135+, but the dia is only 70?

Im not sure if you are drinking everyday that your primary concern is the health of your heart.😂

Mine came up when I was 13, it got as high as 180 systolic. Assumed that genetics was the cause because I was incredible shape, playing sports, resting heart rate at 50. Sometimes you js catch the short end of the stick

The styrated muscles around the veins and arteries also contract in rhythm with the heart beat so that the force from the beat is applied the the muscles surrounding the veins and not the veins and arteries. This saves your arteries from the stretching as the force goes to the muscles.

Silent killer for a reason 😳

@HealthSphereTV01

The term “silent killer” really makes sense when you think about it. Most people expect symptoms before taking things seriously, but that’s not how this works.

Blood pressure seems to be highly useless when taken once at random doctor visits given so many day to day factors can significantly sway it...changes from one to the next I feel is much more useful. The white coat effect and many other things can mislead what your true blood pressure is

I give blood because im O- and it's always fine 120/82 but when I go to my doctor it's like 140/90 or some crazy crap and when they do it the cuff actually hurts my arm. Idk what they do but it's always high there but anywhere else it's fine. I got my own tester and it's usually 120's over 80's(I think my cuff is small) range so confusing. But when I do go in they sit me down and slap it on immediately

My grandma had 220/170 or something around that for a decade. Died from Alzheimer's, never even had chest pain.

When she had issues the Emergency team were always shocked how she's still alive. At some point they got used to it.

One time she stepped on a piece of wood. It was a fountain of blood from a wound that otherwise wouldn't even be noticeable. I still bear that trauma
