As a card crafting and John d Clair mega fan, edge of darkness is just okay. Absolutely not worthing owning that giant box. Action programming was just not the interesting or fun

I agree, "if you like it buy it" is the worst advice, ever.
Ok, if you have money to burn, i understand...but, there are a lot of ways to research before buying, even playing a game on BGA.

massive darkness 1 crosses over with massive darkness 2 - are these counted as a single entry for top/keep 100?

Channels I Recommend (Not a comprehensive list by any means)
1 IN, 1 OUT - A great idea im going to use myself.. but I have a silly question - do small box/light games like Fluxx/timeline count as 1 game?

I have never played any Uwe Roseberg game, including AFFO, that did not make me think "I'd rather be playing The Colonists".
What makes these games worth owning? In a curated 100 game collection...I want to know what makes these special.
TimeStamps:
Alex what is the top campaigns in Zombicide Undead or Alive? Sorry random question but wanted your knowledge. I love the game and want my boys to have a great experience and want to play more.

What a great video. The back and forth you guys have is outstanding. Please make more videos together!
0:08:20 - Sid Meirs Civilization
0:14:05 - The Battle of Five Armies
Love the banter between you two! It was like a game collection therapy session. Liked seeing the different perspectives.
0:18:20 - Edge of Darkness
0:24:40 - Warrior Knights
"Worst advice ever."😂😂😂
0:28:00 - World of Warcraft
0:31:50 - Bonus Pick: Voidfall
Picked up dark ages this year cheap on FB marketplace after hearing ezboardgames opinions, it's actually so fun. Hidden gem for sure
0:35:37 - Middle-Earth Quest
0:39:00 - The Colonists
World of warcraft is amazing with all expansions. It was a shame that they never released the last one they had planned.
0:41:35 - Fallout: The Board Game
0:46:00 - Crown of Ash
Dark Ages is in my own Top20 as well. I would love a rules/balance update for it, as it has its edges and publication seemed a little bit rushed at the time.

@ezbgames you earned yourself a new subscriber lol. Great video, thank you both! Bad luck Alex chose 80% unplayed games :D
More User Perspectives
Have played edge of darkness and warrior knights.
Edge of Darkness I think is a really good game. I like dead reckoning more but edge is very different and for now at least I have room for both. (I limit my collection by space joy number though and have between 300-350 at any given moment so if I only kept 100 it would not make it)
Warrior knights is a very good game haven’t played in years but was in my top 100 for a long time just has been so long since I played it has since fallen out of it. Highly recommend trying
Bro, Middle-Earth Quest... I am waiting every video you to mention it, please, another Alex here to tell you to play it, hahah. This game is a must! ;) It stands proudly with WoTR for the best two LOTR games ever made. And by the way, FFG fans begged for years for expansion for this one and it never happened. It is absolute shame!
@alexdanevEheh damn Asaf now I am searching for FFG games lol
@arturchYou guys have the best banter and chemistry out there.
I'm gonna make popcorn and enjoy this
I’ve been wanting to get Dark Ages but wasn’t sure if there were kickstarter exclusives if I can find a copy
@nizmotubeCrown of Ash is a fascinating game that is wildly different at each player count. I think it truly needs 4 when playing but 2 has this almost relaxed interaction about it I haven’t seen much elsewhere. Alex you’ll want to play it at 4 for all the knives and conflict to come out.
@BoardAllTheTimeYou two- the interaction- what a treat! I love this guy!
@peterfleming9365Am I the only one that thinks Edge of Darkness is better then Dead Reckoning? I feel like Edge of Darkness has more complex Deck Building because for a cost you can buy cards your opponents have. Though both games are really quite different from each other and are only compared because of that sleeve mechanic they share.
@CheddahSlammerWould love to see you play Eclipse 2nd edition together
@DatskorAwesome conversation video! Do more please 😅
@Jaakari7329I find myself wanting Alex to do this with my collection (btw I've played 100% of my games)
@feldmanjbGreat chat.
@jamesbrazeal3847Fallout Shelter (the one in the Tin) is on my Top 10 Board Games of All Time.
@EfrainRiveraJuniorMy collection is a bit over 200, of which at least 50 I've never played.
@EfrainRiveraJuniorI don't care about BGG's scores either.
@EfrainRiveraJuniorLoved the chemistry between you two in this video. Lots of fun!
@nathansavelliHi Alex and skinny Sam Healy.
@EfrainRiveraJuniorYou're friendship is enjoyable to watch. 😊
@ajoytoknowI cannot concentrate on the games because that map is so amazing!
@stacymilacek8401I admire his willingness to ignore ratings, but spending nearly 500 euros on a game that’s not at least well-regarded in general seems, er, interesting
@Filthyanimal9I only have experience with 2 of these games: World of Warcraft: The Boardgame and Middle-Earth Quest.
- I got the WoW boardgame back around the time it came out, when I was heavily into the video game, and I loved every play. I unfortunately lost the game when my room flooded one night from a very heavy rain (don't leave your games on the floor, people). About a year ago, I bought myself a copy off eBay and still have so much fun playing. Haven't gotten the expansions, though, because they're just so expensive.
- I liked Middle-Earth Quest when I owned it, but it was just so big and plodding that I only ever got it to the table once. Ended up selling it through a record store a few years ago.
Great video!
This video was so much fun! I love your back and forth! Definitely checking out ezbgames!
@joannaswanson5753I hope Alex learned his lesson surprising the cohost on what they’ll be discussing. Had he informed him before hand he would have known he hasn’t played 75% of the games lol
I did really enjoy the real time reaction and discussion though
Thanks for reminding me how much I like @ezbgames and I just subscribed to his channel. I really enjoyed the team up on this video. Great stuff.
@SethAGonzalezSuch a fantastic video, you guys have great banter and it's so much fun to watch
@a.c.s.6204!!!!!!❤
@JarradShawFor me, Edge of Darkness is the BEST version of the card crafting games. It's much better than Dead Reckoning or Mystic Vale. Mystic Vale is too stripped down, and EoD has more going on, so that's why it's better for me. I really dislike the "mean" PvP fighting/stealing/area control-ish part of Dead Reckoning, which is why EoD works better for me. I feel like it would be the reverse situation for Asaf, though, based on how much he likes the combat stuff.
The Fallout game is pretty good, but only, as he said, with the expansion (or solo). I only have the smaller (Atomic Bonds) expansion that allows for co-op play, but I'd love to find the New California expansion for a reasonable price, which will probably never happen, since it's fully out of print. The board game secondhand market is complete nonsense. 🙄
The Colonists is long but it's very good. Creating the tiles map that your workers can move on is so satisfying.
@Renegade_KTHad a demo of Crown of Ash at UKGE, it is a banger, I think.
@FidtzI haven’t played any of these games, nor do I own any of them. However, Fallout is still on my wishlist. And I have to disagree that nobody talks about it. I’ve seen quite a few people play this game the past few years on FB groups and Rolling Solo recently did full setup and playthrough videos of the game. The thing holding me back is that it apparently gets much much better with the Atomic Bonds expansion, which is pretty hard to find for a decent price.
@LordVampire1985Lol..... Now listen...... great video! laughed so much!! and can relate!
@warlordfish6676Great vibe on this video, honest but entertaining and sometimes funny differences in opinion that make sense.
@FidtzI'm a simple man, I see @ezbgames, I thumbs up and watch INTENTLY.
@bootsandboards30:01 Right there with you man, learnt a while ago some games like Arnack just aren't for me. Love your taste and have purchased Dark Ages
