The thing about moving to a new place whether it is a new state in the USA or a new country, is that once you move to a new place there are certain things you don't find out until you get there. For example I didn't know that Atlanta has tornados until I moved there. Plus I found that Atlanta is a group oriented place where people are very very clicky.
When I moved to Jamaica, I learned that the coastal areas are way too hot for me. I have to live high up in the mountains where it is cool and windy. I also learned that the roads are full of potholes once you leave the highways and most main roads. These are things I learned once I lived here. I had to move a few times to find a place I like. Even when I found this place I love there are still some issues I have to accept that I never thought about or knew about before I got here.
I have learned that there are some risks and discomforts I have to accept in order to live here. The benefits of living in this beautiful place out ways the negatives.

I have spent about 13 years in Costa Rica and I am on my way out. They leave because they quickly realize how expensive CR is, and how corrupt, and they get tired of being poor. I will also add that I have known many people who lived here for 25, 30 years and many come to hate it and disttrust everyone.

@trinidad179I havent been through all of your videos but how does gringo pricing effect you? Do you feel like bc you aren't in the tourist section that you experience less of that? I often hear a lot of complaints from Canadians and and Americans saying that they cant save bc they are always getting enormous up charges on everything in Latin America , esp Costa Risca from getting quotes on pest control down to a plantain. And that they feel that they really cant build close relationships with locals bc they are normally trying to get money out of them, Theyll say this even after living there for 5 plus yrs. DO you think its bc they are white and the stigma of having lots of money never leaves?

@rimrim3243Being from SW Florida , I have seen it all. We live on the tropical line. Many bugs and lizards from around the world have made home in the area. I had a gecko come in the house . I let him stay. He ate mosquitoes, flies, other bugs. He also made such a cute sound. They are import and factors to the eco system. Lol

Costa Rica Bleeds ya dry. $$$$$$$$ - It was much more affordable in recent decades. Esp Men, who cannot rely on folks taking them out for dinner, etc. No hate, it is a natural consequence of Gentrification. Esp in places like Santa Teresa and Tamarindo.

@jimmyyong2257for some reason you can't say anything negative about Costa Rica. let me tell you, spent 2 months there and its the most Overpriced underwhelming place ive ever been to. you can't even compare it to Thailand , in Thailand anywhere you go its 5 bucks Canadian Or less for amazing food anywhere you go. in Costa Rica the food is terrible, absolutely horrid and expect 25 usd on average. everything is in use there , everyone is trying to scam you, tons of Argentinans , not safe with the diablos, smells like shit everywhere. no decent plumbing systems.
on to actitivites , renting a car, anything touristy, expect ridiculousssss over priced underwhelming stuff. were ta;king 200 bucks for a scuba dive, 200-250 for a national park blah blah jungle hike.
for what Costa Rica is, it should be less than the price of Thailand but its not, its 5 times more expensive . no wonder Costa Rica tourism is declining . expect horse shit all over the beach and them running these poor horses into the ground during 32c weather.
Ignorance of the countries that America owns and probably thinking that the racism would follow them and the economy would be the same/similar

American offers food, and EVERYTHING in their stores laced with chemicals. Even the ground is saturated with pesticides which kills people. The factories put out dangerous fumes which pollute the air. So much artificial stuff all around masquerading as beauty. So
choose. Healthy living or unhealthy living with artificial everything in a land of hatred and violence ๐๐ฝ

I am scared of little creatures, like scorpion. I am also scared of snakes. So, i wouldn't live in Costa Rica

@zfarsh7904Grace, nice video! I went to Grenada, not fully prepared! WOW! The island was beautiful, the people oooh so Beautiful! The scenery Beautiful! The fresh fruits that I could pick from the trees, the fresh fish delicious! It was HOT, humid and I had no air conditioning. I had three fans, no help! I needed air conditioning. Mind you I don't like Air conditioning, although an air conditioner would have been much better. Banking, a freakin nightmare! I could not use my debit card at the ATM. I called the bank several, being told I could use my debit card, not! I needed a car. All those hills damn! I got my exercise! LOL There is no night life! Everyone knows each other. Most people that live in Grenada are family members. Basically, there is nothing to do, except chill and enjoy the views. Stray dogs are a BIG problem as well there! I had to leave Grenada. Customs/Immigration said I needed a family or friend to somewhat sponsor me or get married. I was informed I needed to pay $75/month to remain in Grenada. I was already paying rent, and utilities.
was not going to pay $75/month on top of paying for rent and utilities. Food was very, very, very, very expensive. This time when I leave the UNITED STATES I will visit before packing up. The insects and small animals were a beautiful experience. Lizards were everywhere. NO roaches, or rats. It I mention it was HOT! Would I go back to Grenada to live? NO!
