Who Won... And Lost... The MLB Trade Deadline?

Video Overview & Insights

Scott Braun and A.J. Pierzynski react to The Athletic's winners, losers and snoozers from the 2026 MLB Trade Deadline. They debate whether the Cubs, Red Sox, Blue Jays and Padres had the best deadlines, question why teams like the Mets, White Sox and Rays landed in the wrong categories, and share which clubs they believe got the biggest boost before the stretch run.

Not understanding how the Guardians were Snoozers lmao.

Can’t take these people serious after saying the Os are losers. Huh? Adley forgot how to hit, couldn’t stay healthy, and wasn’t resigning. We got a haul back for him. Ward got on base but the power was nonexistent. We got rid of players doing nothing and got a haul of prospects for them. This Adley deal has exposed all the national and local frauds that claim to be sports writers.

Why is nobody talking about the Guardians deadline. They significantly improved and gave up very little.

As a White Sox fan I would have been just as excited if they had done nothing. These moves don’t move the dial at all. Especially Bart & Doyle. Just more reclamation projects.

😂😂😂😂 you clowns do this every year, & 98% of the time. The team that you say "won the trade deadline" misses the playoffs because they fucked with their teams chemistry. Wanna know who won the deadline? Talk to me in November 🤡🤡

Welcome your 2026 NY Mess.

Tigers should have got more for Skubal.

red sux got fleeced. They gave up 3 top prospects for a guy who is always injured and has under performed.A high pick who has not panned out.

How are the Rays not winners they landed Liam Hicks, Peralta and a solid reliever

Brewers got better, and I want them to come out of the NL but I fear the Dodgers exist and they also got better 😅 I'm a Mariners fan and I wish we made more moves but I'm happy with what we did. I think teams were careful because of the potential lock out.

How are the Orioles losers when the got a good return for Adly? That would be like saying Milwaukee Bucks are automatic losers for becuse they traded Gainnis this offseason.

Calling the Red Sox winners in the trade but the Rays snoozers is wild. Red Sox are winners because they got Rutschman and a reliever? Rutch is hurt and has worse stats than Hicks. The Rays got the better catcher (currently), a SP, and a solid RP..

Keep in mind, these are the same dimwits who were gushing over what the Mets Padres and Giants did before last season's deadline.
To refresh your memory, the Padres Mets & Giants combined to win ONE postseason game.

The Mets quietly had a great deadline. Whoever came up w this list didn't pay attention. The prospects they got back from the Cubs, Rays and Pirates are highly rated. And I'm not a Mets fan

Hilarious Sox fans trying to justify the Castillo money lol they got fleeced for a washed-up 5th starter making huge money

Brewers were winners a starting pitcher & 2 reliefers

This show gets less watchable the more they just dog on the Rays lmfao. Rays are clear winners this deadline. Impact bat, impact starter (we all know Freddy will pitch better with the Rays and at the Trop, and impact bullpen arm.

There is an ongoing debate about whether a team should try to remain competitive every year or put all its chips in, win one championship, and accept five years of losing afterward. Players—and perhaps a subset of superfans—might prefer winning one championship even if it means suffering through several difficult seasons. But I believe the average fan, especially one who regularly attends games, would rather support a consistent winner.

White Sox got schooled on the Luis Castillo trade since they gave up Boston Smith. Bart and Doyle strikeout at high rate and barely walk, hit for low average, questionable if they are even slight upgrades. Deal for Mets relief a win I hope.Chisox were losers.

Go Red Sox !!

Teams seemed to operate as if there won't be baseball next year so they kept their prospects and controllable young players.

How are the Pirates snoozers? They overhauled their entire friggin bullpen

The consistent Baltimore disrespect industry-wide is disgusting and frustrating. It doesn't matter what we do, we are never given positive credit.

I've been an Orioles fan my entire life almost 50 years. And believe me, getting rid of Adley really really sucks. But what people can't seem to realize is that Adley had already been made a huge offer and he rejected it.

He. Wasn't. Going. To. Re-sign.

Getting rid of him now and getting maximum value was the right move.
