1. Absolutely devastated it didn’t move further
2. He has always had OCD, it just got worse when his wife died
3. The reveal of who killed her is satisfying when contained in the episode, but DEEPLY dissatisfying when you take into account the entire show

including Psych is necessary but disincluding columbo is crazy

I've watched all of these except for Murder She Wrote, and The Mentalist became one of my favorite shows of all time. So to me it would win this by quite a bit.

The one thing about castle vs murder she wrote that i disagree with you on is that Cadtle os not believable to me. story structure should not help you solve real life mysteries. However the dynamic is reversed for Jessica. Her skills in solving mysteries lets her write her whodunnits. That for me is far more believable. However i admit it would be nice to see a bit more of jessicas stories. We dont know much about the stories she writes.

Now Psych may not have won (it had some fantastic competition), but there is one episode you might find particularly entertaining. The season 5 episode Dual Spires. Might be right up your alley.

mentalist got cheated, if will Patrick go rogue and do that or can Lisbon convince him to not, is also a mystery, ok its a drama but a big question. But to be fair thats not in the pilot episot hoe he joined but its, full of chemestry and , her letting patrich ho along abdse be ther edue babysitting him a bit bewcause, ..

Ihile i love the mentalist the most, psych is alao great , and i think the detective points should incount both the detective character as the sidekick , and both gus and lisbon are great too
Ok thre ddrama of what will happen in the mentalist is good, first he is a former mentalist so he is very fun, and he grew up in a circus so fun tricks, and the ingoing not if they get red john, but wuill she able co convince him to murder him with his own hands. But its the only thing keeping doing something worse so he is on them and her helping him move on. So she and he is helpful, so she does keep him along.

Also don is so much better when his brothe who is kinda his sidekick too, as so a good arc bette rand it honestly is better as family story, their Dad is awesome too

castle is fun too, and the case ...the case pretty much setting up their dynamic and his gremlin side, his past and his innertomoil and his darker side. And the fake red john does very much show Patricks rage.

If I were to recommend a mystery show I’d recommend ‘Dexter’ it technically does have a police investigation B plot thought it’s 8 Seasons & the first episode does introduce you to the first mystery.

Have not watched yet but if the answer is not Psych I will be so sad

I personally prefer Elementary, the misteries rely on technically complexity than other shows and less psychologically.

A little of that to Bones, buuuut... Unfortunately the personality of the protagonist gets downgraded right in the 2nd episode, and her character arc goes paralyzed and sometimes backwards, I was frustrated with her attitude by temp 4🫤

The problem with this kind of competition (having same punctuations) is you need 1 or 2 extra judges. You'll see that makes things easier and impartial.

He could try to solve Psych cases and we'd all watch. Also, he needs to make another fake podcast soon (or try to solve total drama)

I've heard it both ways.

For me psych is just too over the top.. it probably was a good first episode, but after the same and the same AND the same humor for several seasons it just wanted to make me vomit..
Kinda the same with Castle, but atleast castle had better writing.
Bones was good because it had a lot of fun facts, and I enjoyed the slice of life part of it, but the mysteries and plots were worse than castle.
mentalist was good whenever it followed the main story line, but it had too many fillers that just left you wanting them to move the main story line forward.
Monk was absolutely great for what it was, I don't really have much to say about that.. It's a quirky little police series led by a man with ocd. I do think monk managed to make the whole observation skills seem somewhat realistic(still quite supernatural at times tho), where mentalist and psych were almost always supernatural observation skills.
murder she wrote was fine, but at the same time felt generic.
Elementary..... well.... it's the sherlock holmes show with lucy liu... tha's about it

I dropped Bones before I dropped Castle, but I've watched Psych's entire series multiple times.

Bad shows die quickly, so when you pick titles with as many seasons as these had they must have done well crafting characters and stories (at least at the beginning).

Well, now I need to go an rewatch Murder She Wrote. And Psych. Both are amazing

I was a little kid when Murder, She Wrote first aired (I know, I'm old). I remember it being my comfort show when I was sick. It's the show that made me first start learning to be a writer at age 9. I wanted to grow up to be Jessica Fletcher, writing mysteries and touring the world solving crime. 40 long years of writing later, I write fantasy fiction and have never written a mystery lol.

Matlock is another great one! Not the newer Matlock but the one with Andy Griffith😊

Psych is one of my favorite shows, I definitely recommend watching the rest of it because it just gets better and better

Bones is a good show but its pilot is pretty mid which did give it kind of an unfair disadvantage however I don’t think it’s better than Castle at any point .

My stand out from this list are Psych and Castle followed by The Mentalist
