Capitolo. We liked the water in front of Bambu Club. Longest stretch of golden sand beaches.

Near Ostuni. Pilone and Lido Morelli, Torre Guaceto, a nature preserve with a turtle rescue center, Torre Pozzelle. Most natural beach and least crowded beach!

Santo Stefano Castle. Porto Ghiacciolo. Lido Santo Stefano. Most beautiful, cleanest, soft white sand. Best of all! Our favorite beach in Italy so far.

Puglia travel guide tip! How to unlock Puglia’s best kept secret? Here’s the trick to public access to the shallow end of the bay at Lido Santo Stefano. Turn off the main road and come through the stone pillars toward the castle. Where the road is roped off to the castle, turn right, pass the parking lot entrance to the private club, 50 meters later park outside the campground.

At the metal barrier through the pedestrian turnstile to the left just before the campground entrance. Here’s a video that shows more of the turnstile than we captured. https://youtu.be/LExdEF5tmF4

After the turnstile the dirt road takes you to the peninsula. Follow the footpath along the bay and the cliff toward the beach club to the boat ramp where you can set up your towels. We don’t recommend the slippery rocks, though we did see plenty of other people going in the water. Get there early for a spot.
