honestly, shopping second-hand/refurbished is the best option IMO. I got a crazy deal on a fenix 7s sapphire, which has all the features I have and much more (maps, music, running suggestions and readiness, great battery etc.)

Ive had samsung watches only and im an android user. How would the amoled instinct 3 be? I heard no touch screen but idk if thats something ill miss. People say no maps but idk what that's is in refrence to. Im a firefighter/medic who works out regularly...nothinf crazy adventurous outside cause i live in the burbs (illinois). The battery life is what is attracting me along with the amoled. I charge my phone every other night so ANYTHING linger than that is an upgrade for me. Or should i just get the newest samsung watch instead like the ultra. I had an eye on the epix but i heard its discontinued so future support id like to be secured in. I WOULD do the fenix 8 but that price tag is wild. Maybe the 7 pro....idk

The on/off button is in the worst location for unintended pauses during cycling. I've lost so many rides, I always back it up with a second device.

I wanted to get Garmin, but non of the Garmin watches include continues Heart monitoring for aFib / Heart Rhythm etc. If there is one that does I would haply swap my ultra for Garmin watch.

Thanks for the breakdown. Quite confusing with all the different models. I'll probably just stick to my Casio or Timex Marathon to just time my runs, walks and swims.

@justincarter7954I bought a Fenix 8 and loved it but felt that it was way too big. Hesitantly I bought a Venu X1 during the Christmas sale with the plan on sending it back if I didn't like it. Upon putting the X1 on I fell in love with it. It's so light and thin that you forgot something is on your wrist which can't be said about the Fenix. The screen is also amazing but square watch faces are quite lacking in the store. If Garmin made the casing out of titanium, added EKG, and put 2 more buttons on the X1 it'd be the perfect watch. People complain about the battery life but it's only bad if you compare it to anything other than other Garmin watches. With AOD off I'm getting a week out of it which isn't bad at all in my opinion

@ZacardoteAnyone thinking about getting anything older than the Fenix 8 series, make sure you aren't expecting any new features to roll back. Lots of people are upset over Garmin dropping support on recent flagship models. Garmins says it is due to the new UI.

@pmunolaGarmin 965 vs 265 vs 165 for day to day fitness , swimming /cycling and a bit of running which is the best watch for day to day use. FR 965 is retailing for $499 fr 265 for $389 fr 165 at $280. Need a future proof watch for next 3 years atleast

Elite summary. I’m dangerously tempted to swap my Apple Watch Ultra 3 for a Fenix 8 (RIP to the ecosystem). Also, the MARQ Adventurer in Damascus Steel is absurdly beautiful… but at that size and weight wearing it is almost a workout in itself.

@tutkuberk8I like to go for walks on the south downs, near to Southampton actually. I originally bought the instinct 2x. It was a great watch, then the 3 came out so I bought the instinct 3 tacticle edition, I then got the the fenix 8 kept that for a year and just upgraded to the Tactix 8. I have enjoyed them all, great watches. I didn't realise there were kids watches, think I'll get my lad one of the bounce watches. Cheers for the information dude!

@AndresColyerReally interesting video; I hadn't realised that the Garmin range was that huge!. My Vivoactive 4 is still going strong, so no immediate need to get another at this point, though.
