When posing as part of a government agency, appearance and behavior matter. On February 23rd, 2022, Manuel Nava's attempt to pose as a National Weather Service employee was quickly exposed by Oklahoma police, leading to serious consequences for impersonating law enforcement.

What's the best way to catch a police impersonator? Set a trap and let them fall for it. On February 8th, 2020, Albuquerque Police in New Mexico did just that, arresting Daniel - a felon posing as a Bernalillo County Sheriff’s deputy. This was a classic case of the mouse getting caught in the trap.
Here's the situation: 19-year-old Sam attempted to pose as a police officer, pulling over multiple vehicles in Kenosha, Wisconsin. One of those vehicles, however, was an off-duty officer, and on June 21st, 2022, his deception quickly backfired when confronted by real police.

Further investigation with the girlfriend would probably reveal he probably just met her. I bet she wanted out of that car, and was ultimately saved by his arrest. Saved from another minute with this guy, at the very least. Nothing he said was true, no fire department, his dad put the sticker on "last night as a joke". probably no girlfriend, Thank you to the police for figuring out this case.

@ericjones8191Several in my family worked as volunteer firefighters for more than 30 years. They worked alongside paid firefighters. How rude to discount their service as ‘just volunteers’. Our county couldn’t afford enough paid people. How would that officer like if I said oh he’s just a part time officer as many are?
