This is just part 1 of our Texas Food Tour, which includes dumplings, sushi, banh mi, viet cajun crawfish/seafood boil, Indian food, Korean BBQ, donuts, burgers, noodles, boba/bubble tea, and my personal favorite -- BUC-EE'S aka the largest gas station/convenience store!! What to Eat in HOUSTON TEXAS! HTX Food Tour Part 1

Although Bucees is a great place I just can’t call what they serve Texas barbecue, I don’t dislike it. It’s just not what most people would call traditional Texas barbecue, definitely hit up some of the great barbecue places next time you come, but that was a great trip around the city, everybody’s always gonna have their favorites, but you definitely hit some great places.

Tornado Burger is my jam! You won’t get a better burger for the money...anywhere!!! Those fries are fresh hand cut and are way better than that chemical modified crap at McD’s.....Vietwich is great and 2-3 blocks down the street is Don Cafe and their bahn mi is also among the best, but the one on Bellaire is better.....a few years ago they were $2 each, buy 5 get 1 free....so 6 bahn mi for $10. Now they’re $6 each. I’m gonna try that coffee....

Wow… so many restaurants missed. This is a very touristy trial. Musafeer for starters is a must, and there are a dozen restaurants in Katy. The viet food is also killer in Houston. Aga’s is legit but damn… you missed a lot.

Asian a native Texan born and bred the fastest was way to get me riled up is to say something bad about Whataburger or Buccees.

@juliosantos9289
@

Just from watching this video I'm going to San Dong or Golden Dumpling House. I'm a big dumpling and bun fan so here I go! Also thanks for the big shout out to Buccees. It's a Texas Institution.

@juliosantos9289

"Hella" is ur favorite word!! 😂

@johncastles3724
@

Yeah Buc-ee’s Banana Pudding is pretty bad compared to “most” homemade Banana Puddings down here in Texas. No bananas, virtually no wafers. Where I came from we generally use Vanilla Pudding as the base since bananas with banana pudding together is a little one note.

@BlastHeart96

The last place you go for BBQ in the Houston area is Bucees . Ten at least better places to eat BBQ.

Man I wish les givral's was open during your visit, its used to be one of the most popular banh mi spot in Houston that had a long line out the door. Too bad they haven't been open in a long time since the pandemic.

Houston has an amazing food scene

@Vincent364onTwitter

Good video. As a native Houstonian, I agree to your list except for the first two places. So many better places for burgers / Banh mi's that are actually in Houston. Ella's Shipley's is 👌🔥.

I love when Californians come to Texas and say "hella" every other word, just nice to see people not slip into the drawl and retain their own unique culture. My New Yorker neighbor started saying "ya'll" 4 days after moving in and I just can't smoke weed with him saying "lets get some CAWFEE Y'ALL" without laughing.

Anyone who claims McDonald’s fries are the best immediately loses credibility in my book.

I have lived in Houston, Texas for 16 years. I am a connoisseur of food, and have watched hundreds of you tube videos on restaurants. Yours is by far the WORST I have seen ! Just because you are Asian doesn't mean you should review almost exclusively Asian restaurants. You are allowed to go into other restaurants, you know. Come on now, this is Houston, Texas. It is not known for it's Asian food. The majority of the population is Hispanic. You did not review one Mexican food establishment. There are thousands, from food trucks to fancy restaurants. You did not go to one of them. The other 6 types of foods that Houston, Texas is famous for are: Barbecue, fried foods (such as chicken fried steak, fried chicken, fried fish, fried vegetables), cafeterias or buffets, hamburgers, steak houses, and sea food. Lets go thru each of these. I have never heard of someone going to Buc-ee's for barbecue. You should have gone to a place that had a pit barbecue. You never did fried food, cafeteria or buffet, or steak houses. I did not mention soul food, because any soul food restaurant will have at least one of the following three: barbecue, fried, and or cafeteria style. You did do hamburgers; however, you went to a place that myself and many other people have never heard. If you want an authentic Texas hamburger chain try, What A Burger. You did good on seafood. You went to a restaurant and had crawfish, a seafood that Houston is famous for. You also did good going to Shipley donuts, which are famous in Houston. I am going to objectively watch part 2 tomorrow and give a review for that one. I hope tomorrows video will be better.
