What TO DO When The Costco's 2% CASH BACK REWARD Isn't Enough?! | Costco Employee Explains
Video Overview & Insights
I've seen and heard a lot of confusion regarding the cashback rewards and how it all works, and whether it's even worth it! Here I give a brief explanation on the rewards and answer some questions about the checks!
I think my max check I have ever gotten was $64 once - when my family lived with my wife's parents.

Been an executive member since 2023...I've never received a cash back reward. Also what is the Costco Wallet on my app.? I can't believe that I am just realizing this.
@queenie467Do I get the 2 percent cash back on orders that I get on same day delivery?
@chris10420With the current membership fee: $65 Goldstar and $130 for Executive, the difference is now $65. So you need $3250 of spending in a year to break even if you didn't benefit from other benefits of Executive membership. The approach for starting out with Executive then asking for refund later may or may not be the best option. If you are starting out brand new, right now they give $50 in Costco digital shop card if you get a New Executive Membership and the Costco Visa Card at the same time. I suppose you can keep that $50 shop card even if you were to ask for downgrade afterwards. These deals change so what may make sense now, may not later. The other approach is that you are already a Goldstar member and don't normally spend $3250/year anyway--not even close, then it is probably better to stay on Goldstar until you run into a major purchase. Upgrade at that point and only pay executive on a prorated based to the end of the year, then ask for a down grade back at the beginning of the year. What that does is that if you are only an executive for say the last 6 months, you will only pay half of the upgrade cost thus your break even point for that 6 months is $1625 spending which is way easier to meet than hoping maybe in a stretch that the star lines up then you'll benefit from Executive Membership and only having to get a refund and losing the interest on the upgrade fee and the hassle you went thru for no reason. Sure you "lost" the 2% for the first 6 months of spending but if those aren't going to amount to anywhere near $1650, then you are ahead anyway by not upgrading until it makes sense to do so and only keep it if it makes sense to do so. Make Costco work for your money.
@emikami1Also with executive membership, you get to shop 30 early .
@Shellys_vlogCan the secondary member of the executive membership redeem the check?
Or the primary card holder is required?
I got a rewards cert. I downgraded. I got refunded the difference of the upgrade fee and the rewards. I am now a Gold star. Can I still use the exec rewards cert with a gold star membership?
@EricR-studyCan you talk about auto insurance included

@SergioHernandez-ft9uvMine expired. What can i do?
@patrickmcgranahan1594can we ask the costco team to auto-renew our membership from the rewards and send the cheque of the difference amount
@jasonwalker9864does any cash back extension works on costco online orders?
@jasonwalker9864Wait if I go and use my credit card to pay and use the gift card to pay the rest do I have to show the membership card because I’m gonna use my dads cash back
@rrz0009When are the checks issued
@mrkilo1985Does Costco give you cash back if you receive a 200 check?
@sildesasotolongo2184I don't get why it's breaking even when you have to spend $120 for an executive membership to qualify for the 2% cash back. So $60 is not breaking even, it's only half of your membership. So if you get the normal membership you don't have to worry about the cash back certificate once a year.
@jumpingjupiter@costcoDude can I earn 4 percent for buying a costco shop card for being an executive and paying with costco citi visa? thanks
@tlaccordIf you're curious, you'll hit that $1000 yearly limit only after you spend $50,000/yr at costco. I assume a very small percentage of Costco shoppers actually run into that limit.
@DankflamioWhat about employee i got my executive membership they gave it to me do i accumulate Cash back ?
@whoknows7878Girlfriend had $135.00 due in rewards and got a $60.00 check in the mail with highest membership. She called and they said too bad, that’s all your getting. Nice.
@SlapjabberThanks for video! It clarified a lot of my questions! See you at Costco!
@vam650Liked and subscribed. Thanks for your content
@miketaylor2083A Great company with worst possible IT infrastructure. the CTO must be ashamed of himself!!
@you.tube12818What is what if you have both executive and citi card. When o use it do they accumulate cash back separately or just one of them 🤔..
And if you get a check back on executive why citi don't do that..
I know you could see them both on the app 😅
Really enjoy Costco. Great company and same for employees.
