A poll saying 48% of Californians being OK with a Republican Governor is huge. But leave it to the CA GOP to shank it. As Carl Demaio says, the CA GOP is a dumpster fire of consultants capitalizing on losing. They don't back candidates who can win when they have a candidate who can bring in the most donations. Look at personalities like Larry Elder and Steve Garvey.

The shift from Blue to Red will rely heavily on the issues that matter to Californians. Economic growth and development will be a huge factor, energy efficiency and environmental issues that are important to California. Affordable housing is essential for the young people and low income families to own homes and encouraging startup businesses in California. Homelessness is a key debate in California. Raise the standard of education.

The worst thing the Democrats have done for themselves is to create and support Sanctuary Cities and policies, give free medical care to illegal immigrants, allow homeless emcampments to take over cities, abandon Americans, etc., etc. The Republican agenda and values are very appealing!

This is a civil & informative conversation, to which I listened to try to understand why there is so much crazy in CA. To say that people aren't that left winged shows how out of touch he is with reality. Sometimes you have to get out of the forest to see the trees. It's the most left wing state in the union. Perhaps find guests that are not based in CA to try to understand how to find the leadership that's needed.

I also found John's statement of Dems aqcuiesing to Harris because the billion dollars spent on her presidential run failed & has all the answers to CA problems is ludicrous. She's a loser because she lacks the basic understanding & critical thinking of the issues & lacks ideas to the one's she thinks she understands. Her posture, lack of ideas, slow processing, out of touch with reality, & inability to answer a question is just crazy to think anyone would vote her in as gov.

I cant help but notice the difference between the guest you have who are normal people and the shadiness of the the officials you have on the show. I can totally tell if the light skinned man is a paid official of the state or just a resident. The official double talk or just dont make sense even with softball questions. This interview was skewed too far to the right for me. Personally. Not casting aspersions on anyone here. I’m one of those Californians who volunteers and sees what Governor Newsom is trying to accomplish for the state and for its citizens. Every state has issues. Every state has “politicians”. It would be the height of FOLLY to turn this state red and, for example, allowing developers to pave the state over, drill on protected lands etc. It’s worrisome that this type of rhetoric is branded as “this is what’s better for California”. It’s not. Not better than what we have now.

California election primaries are heavily biased against Republicans in the current climate because there is a single primary for an office, in which all candidates for the office compete, regardless of their party affiliation. So the two candidates who run in the final election are likely to be Democrats, since California's voters are largely registered as Democrats. This weighs us leftward.
