What It’s Really Like To Own An F1-Powered AMG One | 4K

Video Overview & Insights

The Mercedes AMG One was a moonshot, a road car that used a real Formula 1 engine – and most owners tuck them away in a temperature-controlled garages given their value and rarity. Not this owner though!

Is this the ultimate ‘F1 car for the road’?

Love the owner. If you’re too scared to put miles on it bc of value or etc you’re not rich enough. Billionaires are so rich the can and will send it back to the factory and have it completely refurbished with brand new parts new paint new wheels if they get curbed or scratched can have any interior part replaced also they’re so rich they can have the engine and gearbox completely rebuilt with all new parts and as long as it was done at the factory and you have all the paper work photos payment receipts maintenance records and videos proving you let it warm up and do all the required maintenance and preventative maintenance atleast 100 miles miles before it’s required it will fetch either much much much more or basically the exact same as one that’s never even been driven once and is completely OEM original. Not OEM + heritage restoration. Mercedes has a heritage program and can and does make every single part of every single Mercedes ever made to the exact oem specification. If you’re a vip client with an extremely rare and high valued car or truck for example a 1957-1963 Mercedes sl300 they give you the option when restoring it or replacing a part/parts if you’d like it made from a modern high performing material thats better in every single aspect and has been re engineered to not have whatever particular short coming/flawed design that the original part had while looking and fitting absolutely perfect as the original did when brand new the day it came off the line or you can have said part remade EXACTLY and I mean EXACTLY the way it came from factory. They have everything written down to save the knowledge and processes and chemical make up literally everything is documented they even talk to and interview the designers engineers chemists test drivers even the people on the assembly line literally everyone who had anything to do with anything with making the car and they even systematically test and evaluate how your upgraded new OEM part or component will effect your current parts and systems. For example the SL300 convertible didn’t get disc brakes till March of 1961 and aluminum engine block till the very last batch of cars for that model which was 1962 (I don’t count the 1963 cars bc they were all jigged and made in 1962 but weren’t officially sold until the first week of February and then it was over and that model to never be made again so technically they’re a 1962 car) regardless back to my point. They’re Extremely rare and HYPER expensive ($1.3 million +). What some collectors will do with Mercedes Benz and their Heritage restoration program is buy a 1957-1960 model year and then they will have Mercedes build them a very advanced modern and high tech aluminum alloy engine block with the best metallurgy you can imagine that is much stronger and lighter than their original 1957-1960 iron block and even far better than the original 1961-1963 aluminum block and then will completely redesign the top and bottom end increasing compression ratio increase timing blue print the engine balance it absolutely perfectly lighten the rotating assembly including the crack shaft upgrade the fuel injectors and fuel pump as its mechanically driven direct injection Bosch fuel system which was the first of its kind in the world as far as production cars go upgrade its single over head cam with a better intake and exhaust profile adding roughly 28 hp bringing it to 268 whp. Also when doing this extremely expensive restoration the clutch is upgraded to a fichtel and sachs heavy duty organic clutch disc which is who originally designed and built the clutch’s for the sl300 but now they just use modern composite compounds instead of the asbestos that came with the car from 1957-1963. It is extremely rare and very expensive but there are a handful of guys that have done this to their 1957-1960 to make them basically like a faster 1963. It also makes the car 100lbs lighter in the front end. They also go from drum brakes to disc which save them another 9 pounds on each corner of unsprung mass and these new oem+ disc brakes are identical in look and size to an original 1961-1963 disc brake setup but they are made from much lighter metal and the disc themselves are the best steel you can get and stop and last much better including the pads. Saving 16lbs each corner saving 62 pounds overall. Then to finish it off people will option the magnesium wheels and save an additional 9 pounds per corner saving a total of 198 pounds of over all weight which is absolutely insane making these extremely rare and expensive Mercedes Benz commissioned OEM+ Heritage Restoration cars the fastest SL300 to ever come out of the factory. So when factoring all that in and all the provenance these cars if they ever do go to auction while keeping all the original OEM parts it left the factory with 66-68 years ago they will fetch a much much much higher price regardless of how many miles it has on it as long as it is taken care of very nicely and gets repainted with the exact paint thats chemically and atomically the same and same with interior like seats and flooring it’s will always be more expensive and sought after unless all the buyers are museum curators and are looking for a fully original reference piece. Even then in my opinion the upgraded heritage edition will be worth hundreds of millions in another 68 years as they will be much much rarer and seen as the absolute pinnacle of the sl300 line up (SLR doesn’t count) while still keeping the heart and soul of what the original designers had in mind. Think of it like how McLaren F1 owners sent their “base model” F1’s back to Woking to turn them into F1 LM-Spec or the F1 LM or the F1 GTR and last but not least the F1 GT Long-Tail. I see this car the AMG One being upgraded in 60 years time just like how F1’s are and SL300’s are nowadays and those Factory made OEM+ AMG One’s will be the most expensive care in Mercedes history once the SLR 300 falls from grace here in the next 25-30 years bc all the very old rich people that admired the cars from the 1960’s will be passed away and gone and the new generation now that’s growing up with the AMG One’s now will become very old and wealthy in about 40-60 years and will drop that gavel and it will far out bid the 143 million the SLR300 sold for. I’m extremely good at predicting future car prices and have been extremely accurate over the last 16 years of my 30 year life and I 100 percent guarantee a ultra rare version of the AMG One will sell on the auction block for 707.7 million.

10:00 F1 Car Or GT Car?

❤😊🇰🇷🇺🇲🇬🇧🇮🇹🇫🇷🇩🇪🍌🍕🧋🥤🫵👍🙏👌😎

I think the AMG-One is one of the stupidest cars ever made.

But it's pretty cool it exists. The owner seems shockingly down to earth for owning things like this

3mill per car thats almost trillion dollar in sales. Screwed up thing I hate about Mercedes is they stop making parts for so e cars like 2003 SL 55. You cant find basic door trim...Meanwhile Toyota if they produced the car they will have spare part. Thats why love Toyota

Anybody remember when super cars were so beautiful we hung pictures of them on walls as a kid.
Today’s cars are designed by computers and companies only care about lap times

I expected the Merc’s owner to be a knob, but he’s great!

For noise management I would recommend to him Apple AirPods Pro 3 earbuds, about $250. (The Pro 2s are also excellent, but be aware of Apple’s confusing naming. Accept nothing without Pro 2 or Pro 3 in its model designation.) They are small, fitting inside the ear, and cancel the steady-state engine and road noise but not other sounds like your passenger’s voice as well as hearing what is going around you.

In my Miata, wirelessly connected to my iPhone, with the top down at 70 mph, wind and engine roar are reduced by at least 70%. And yet I can hear other traffic. I can hear Google Maps directions along with podcasts, music, whatever iPhone can play. I can take incoming calls with both sides coming across clearly. And because these are certified hearing aids, wearing them while driving is legal. I know for a fact that in a sports car, these earbuds enhance safety and reduce fatigue. The noise cancellation lets me keep volume level from other inputs low. If there was a risk I would not use them.

SO i HAVE AN AMG GT BLACKSERIES, PAID $350k FOR IT. LAP TIME AT NRING IS 6.43 WITH NOT BEST CONDITIONS. SOME AGREE THAT WITH DRY NRING TRACK A 6.38 TIME IS MORE LIKELY. SO FOR 8 SECONDS.... I FIND MY GT QUITE CHEAP VS AMG ONE. AND I CAN DRIVE IT ON PUBLIC ROADS AND I HAVE A TRUNK AND CAN BE SERVICE AT AN NB DEALERSHIPS AND LOOKS AS WELL CRAZY.
I WOULD LOVE AMG TEAM TO PROPOSE A KIT FOR THE GT BLACKSERIES LIKE THE MR KIT. THEN THE CAR WILL BE EVEN MORE PHENOMENAL

@CARS-PEOPLE
@

damn..it is way too noisy inside..honestly I would hate owning such a car...I had the chance years ago to be a passenger at a track day at SPA... had a ride in both the Bugatti Veyron Supersport...it was just AMAZING... the performance on this car coupled with the feel of extreme performance and how easy it drove & comfort & safety at crazy speeds was mesmerizing..really..then went for the same lap with the Koenigsseg CCX...and it was truly almost a nightmare.(not kidding)..the ride was harsh & awfully noisy that you wanted it to stop.....well...this AMG./one makes me thing of the Koenigsegg..extreme power but super uncomfortable & noisy annoying car to drive on a daily basis.....unlike a Veyron..or now a Chiron...

True car enthusiasts are truly something else. He's absolutely right about creating memories and changing people's lives. I've been borrowed both a Porsche 911 (997) Turbo, and a BMW M5 (E60), by some lads just from having a chat with them about cars.
