Video Overview & Insights

"Curing cancer," explained.

We’re not looking for a “cure for cancer” anymore. Cancer is hundreds of diseases, so we’re really in a multi front fight against all of them. Cancer is a problem for us today in a way it wasn’t for previous generations. But, luckily, we also have more and more ways to fight back.

Blueberries matcha lionesmane mushroom modified fruit pectin andgallium medication saved my grandfathers from stage 4 full body cancer my family works in cancer research and oncology my aunt is second hand writer on nobel prize paper and my uncle is leading biophysics researcher

— @Ascjdks

I started this episode with endless questions: What is cancer? What causes it? How do we treat cancer? What are the symptoms? Why are some cancers easier to treat than others? Why is cancer so hard to cure? Why do so many people die of cancer?

What I found is an incredible, complex, inspiring effort to treat and stop an insidious killer. In this video, we dive deep into how we treat cancer today. But I also found that we may not be helping the greatest number of people we can.

My dad had prostate cancer and had his froze off with dried ice. He was cancer free for 12 years and it just came back this year. That treatment was no longer available so he had to go through radiation which is extremely hard on his body but now he is cancer free once again.

In this episode of Huge If True, I want to make the case that while we have made enormous strides in the fight against cancer we have also largely ignored one of the single best ways to save the most lives.

At 48, I had a symptom: hematuria, which led to me getting a CT scan, which led to a 2 cm tumor being removed from my kidney. My symptoms may have had nothing to do with cancer, but I have been fine for over five years now.

02:06 What is cancer?

03:02 How do we treat cancer?

"Jesus, however, called the children to himself and said, 'Let the children come to me and do not prevent them; for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.

Amen, I say to you, whoever does not accept the kingdom of God like a child will not enter it.' ” (Luke 18:16-17, Catholic Bible)

"Jesus said to them in reply, 'Have faith in God.

Amen, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, "Be lifted up and thrown into the sea", and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it shall be done for him.

Therefore I tell you, all that you ask for in prayer, believe that you will receive it and it shall be yours.

When you stand to pray, forgive anyone against whom you have a grievance, so that your heavenly Father may in turn forgive you your transgressions.' ” (Mark 11:22-25, Catholic Bible)

"Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever believes in me will do the works that I do, and will do greater ones than these, because I am going to the Father.

And whatever you ask in my name, I will do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

If you ask anything of me in my name, I will do it." (John 14:12-14, Catholic Bible)

"He answered him, 'Why do you ask me about the good? There is only One who is good. If you wish to enter into life, keep the commandments.' ”

(Matthew 19:17, Catholic Bible)

"He said to him, 'You shall love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.

This is the greatest and the first commandment.

The second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.

The whole law and the prophets depend on these two commandments.' " (Matthew 22:37-40, Catholic Bible)

"So Peter got up and went with them. When he arrived, they took him to the room upstairs where all the widows came to him weeping and showing him the tunics and cloaks that Dorcas had made while she was with them.

Peter sent them all out and knelt down and prayed. Then he turned to her body and said, 'Tabitha, rise up.' She opened her eyes, saw Peter, and sat up.

He gave her his hand and raised her up, and when he had called the holy ones and the widows, he presented her alive.

This became known all over Joppa, and many came to believe in the Lord.

And he stayed a long time in Joppa with Simon, a tanner." (Acts of Apostles 9:39-43, Catholic Bible)

"We sailed from Philippi after the feast of Unleavened Bread, and rejoined them five days later in Troas, where we spent a week.

On the first day of the week when we gathered to break bread, Paul spoke to them because he was going to leave on the next day, and he kept on speaking until midnight.

There were many lamps in the upstairs room where we were gathered,

and a young man named Eutychus who was sitting on the window sill was sinking into a deep sleep as Paul talked on and on. Once overcome by sleep, he fell down from the third story and when he was picked up, he was dead.

Paul went down, threw himself upon him, and said as he embraced him, 'Don’t be alarmed; there is life in him.'

Then he returned upstairs, broke the bread, and ate; after a long conversation that lasted until daybreak, he departed.

And they took the boy away alive and were immeasurably comforted." (Acts of Apostles 20:6-12, Catholic Bible)

06:27 How do we save more lives?

07:47 Does early detection save lives?

Prevent cancer from happening in the first place. Food grade diatomaceous earth is the solution! It's basically 97% silica. When you have the proper amounts of silica in your bloodstream it is impossible to get cancer! Look it up!

To date, there has been MORE THAN A TRILLION DOLLARS spent on “curing” cancer. The number of people who are cured of cancer today is NOT HIGHER THAN IT WAS 70 YEARS AGO!! That’s because cancer research is TOO LUCRATIVE!! If they cure it, they won’t make money!! The NUMBERS PROVE IT!!

Good information but did you know that more people die of heart disease than all cancers combined?!?!

— @fx648

Typically here I’d do a “joke down low” - a joke with a key word you can use in the comments. But… well… for obvious reasons, a joke about cancer didn’t seem right. So, how about we just use the word “check” in the comments to tell me you’re a real one :)

cancer is a biological process. We are here because of mutations. So, more mutations because human nature is trying to evolve to new life style.

Cause and prevention are not sexy like flashy expensive medical treatments. If the medical community really cared more than padding pockets, they would take a page out of the fire service book and try to put themselves out of buisness. Preventing fires saves more lives than effective response ever could, BUT you can never report or track how many lives were saved... In the modern age, we are exposed to excessive toxins (including medications) and live unhealthy lifestyles that increase our risks for cancer. More study in that arena could develop scientifically accurate prevention plans.

I think if we all do preventative screening then it means that the Dr wont make as much money. Its all about money.

Not a lot of glory, he says. It's always the same thing. Pride and Greed lead the way. People are more interested in their own personal gain than they are in actually making a difference.

@GPTLiveLab
@

We're not fighting cancer sadly. We're fighting corporate greed.
We allow people to die because they can't afford the treatment. I fear if a cure is found, it will be made available to those who can afford it while the rest of us die trying.

The sad thing is, we're doing it to each other 😟

Survival rate is a dumb statistic. We got much better at scanning, so we become patients much younger than 50 years ago, but we don't die older.
Becoming a patient, has many issues by itself.

Did u know that cancer isn't an enemy, the cancer holds all the toxins so it doesn't spread to the body, so radiation and chemotherapy surgery can open it and cause it to spread leading to worst.

People say don't feed cancer, that it feeds off sugar, buh like, I'm not fully sure buh to me, cancer is a good thing, kinda, try to think deeper b4 we do sugery.

P.S I'm not a medical professional. You must not abide to wgat I'm saying without proper study. I'm a Christian who watched Pastor Chris Oyakhilome's documentary on cancer. I'm a Christ Embassy member.

My daughter got an early (she was 49) colonoscopy and a suspicious spot was found. Biopsy said cancer. She participated in a Moffitt cancer study/trial that used DNA testing to track her cancer. Got radiation, etc and beat it into submission for three years. Low level cancer was detected, followed and found to be growing. Colonoscopy, biopsy, verified the location in the colon, surgery removed it. Struggled with wearing an ostomy bag. Weird having the end of the small intestine stitched to your skin… Reattached everything. Long process but she is fine now. Genetic testing will continue. Yes, early detection is key‼️

Cancer is found in most bodies especially as they get older. It is most often caused by radiation exposure or cell deterioration. Poor circulation or too much sunshine or smoking are all implicated. The body's immune system fights it all your life. It is often winning even if you don't know. After all, the body is a mostly automatic system functioning at many levels. But at the microbiology level it remains a mystery even to most doctors that have studied it for years. We are finding out now that many foods are key to a healthy immune system and how the microbiome in the colon plays a critical role. l.reuteri bacteria and glycine are 2 new molecules that help your body function and control inflammation. They are not on the radar of most doctors.
