If have money, are young or have a very high paying job this place will be great to you otherwise this place is not the place you want to live. If you want an affordable middle class home completely wipe that idea from your mind as you won’t find it. Space is very limited here as only 20 miles give or take from coastline to Everglades. All high rises and houses very close to each other with literally on square feet of front or backyards. Some streets have apartment/condo buildings literally with their backs against the street with barely enough room for a back patio and zero yard. All the roads here are very beat up and we’re not designed to carry volume of traffic they do everyday. People are generally friendly until they get behind wheel than it’s Jekyll and Hyde. Some of the rudest most aggressive drivers I have ever experienced. You have every inch of green space taken up with development. Lots of new development in city pushing against older parts of area this has caused property taxes and property values to skyrocket and a lot of people without money are being squeezed out. Lots of corporate apartment high rises going up and high end condo high rises especially towards city. The airport is kind of rickety with varying degree escalators and elevators always out of order. Food choices in terminals seem to be somewhat limited. If you live here you don’t go to Miami Beach, at least everyone I know who are longtime residents don’t go there. Parking there is limited and expensive and the beach there is only used by tourists staying there. When I leave here it will not be missed.

Reacting to real Reddit comments to reveal the truth about Miami's polarizing transformation in 2026. With median home prices at $600,000, a 74.9 cost of living index, and $5.5 billion in venture capital, neighborhoods like Wynwood and Brickell are changing fast.
I visited Miami for two weeks.
I am not surprised why rich people wants to live there. I would too! However even if I am enginner having house with garden in PL Europe living in well standard I am pretty sure I would not afford the same in Miami.

Miami drastically degraded right after the pandemic. A great part of it due to the rampant corruption happening at local government levels. Any opportunist with a briefcase full of cash is given carte blanche to do whatever and whenever. It is money laundering heaven, all you have to do is look around to realize what's really happening. Is a great place for those who have a lot of money but the average 9 to 5 person can barely survive. Also the cultural degradation is predominant. South Beach for example, used to be a mecca for international modeling agencies, the best clubs, great restaurants, and beautiful people. Now, morphed into a garbage dump, crime riddled, drugs, gangs, grotesque people. Anything south of West Palm Beach is a trap

Well I'm both in Chicago and Sunny Isles Beach. Chicago winters are cold, but living entirely underground in the winter??? That is only in a few select places in the loop. I don't even have an indoor spot for my car here. Winters are horrible but I try to escape to Sunny Isles Beach when I can. Summers are great in Chicago and pretty horrible in Miami. I would still trade 10 summers in Miami for one winter in Chicago. Its THAT BAD!

This video had some great information. I may have a job opportunity to move from the Midwest to Miami and I’ve been super divided. It seems like an exciting new adventure, and I think between seasonal depression and weather-related migraines, it would be really good for my health (I know there’s still plenty of rainy days, but it’s about 30 fewer days per year on average than where I live now). But the thought of living in the hurricane zone freaks me out a little, and I rely on public transportation.

HARSH TRUTH - "Middle Class" = High Six Figures +. This is the new reality. I saw a video of a nice condo, in a "Nice, Safe" area (4 bed/4bath) in Medellin, Columbia going for $400K. Think about that!
Bottom line, it will get worse. AI (displacing jobs) + Inflation (US will utilize to pay debt) = MOST PEOPLE WILL FAIL. Wake up - Keep debt low, INVEST IN SKILLS, Network.
The K shaped Economy is here and isn't going anywhere. If you know, you know.

Miami is a third world country
@olivermiller3720No culture
@MANZANOADRIANGreat video, thank you!
@emmanuelaalexandra1577I used to live there when I was in high school and moved years later. I love visiting Miami, but hated living there. Why? Hot humid weather for 3/4 of the year; Nonstop traffic on highways; Not much culture, barely anyone walking on the sidewalks And most importantly, eight out of 10 people are trying to scam you or want to borrow money from you, even the ones closest to you. And all are knee deep in debt and don’t have two nickels to rub together. There isn’t a lot of violent crime, but there is a ton of financial crime. Of all the hundreds of people whom I thought were my friends and Associates, I can honestly say that I only trusted like one or two people over 30 decades.
@danvu9812Love Miami. Greatest city in the USA.
@miamijohn6810Place is 💩
@HankMoody-h2eNever answered where do people live who work in the service industry, we can all guess why.
@maneyfresh3925Its not for everyone - career wise its harder to make it than NYC in some ways cheaper than NY in others more expensive-- but if you have a niche business and you can live right on SoBe and walk to work and live near the beach in a low level 2 Floor historic condo its PARADISE ... other wise if you drive its a living HELL.
@lisaariottiartIt’s fucking great for what it is!!!
@dime7612Well, I am a Miami native, and have always complained about it. Today I can't even live here, I can't wait to GTFO
@DoLo-to4rnLove Miami ( WYNWOOD) 😎 Love it! or Love it!❤❤❤
@wilfredvasquez5908Every time I go to the airport, it is third world. Someone needs to fix all the crap and bring it up to world class like the new ones in asia.
@richardmitchell8907a woman as mayor is always bad news, expect 10000000000 quadrillion engineers and doctors.
@pavin12Born and raised in Miami in little Havana have bever moved and definitely everyone that moved from NYC messed it up 😂
@MojojoejoeFree Cuba!!!...Not Greenland.
@Patrick-yh5ydI live in Miami, and Miami is as great as you want it to be
If you have money, you don't have to speak Spanish, great weather, fairly low crime, but making a living here, from scratch is not a thing. I failed twice in Miami, before I got it right. If you want to work South Beach, that's a sub-culture. If you want Brickell, that's an expensive sub-culture. Miami has become the premier city in the U.S.
As long as your soiled, or on disability
@jasonsmith530I just hope the new Democrat mayor isn't going to do what other democrat mayors tend to do; turn their cities into crime ridden hellscapes.
@christianwestling201916:20 absolutely true, I came here to miami homeless from north carolina to escape the winter and recived help right away.. i am VA however
