What Comes Next In Iran

Video Overview & Insights

So, what the hell is going on with the negotiations with Iran? They’re not over. They haven’t actually really begun. I’ve made clear that I think the MOU stinks. But let’s be clear what it isn’t: a deal.

Stop lying about the Dailey Wire shows being ad free. They are definitely not ad free. They are packed with ads. One of the reasons I cancelled my subscription is the fact you lied about the shows being ad free.

There IS a world stage, and WE are the audience. Spoiler alert! Israel will create an illusion(wink, wink, nudge, nudge) that points to Iran breaking the agreement, and as any tired old show, predictably, we will go after Iran again. Sigh, yawn. Stop watching?

The problem with the Treaty of Versailles (1919) was the lack of enforcement. If the French had intervened in 1936 when the Rheinland was reoccupied, or in 1935 when conscription was announced, Nazi Germany would have been crushed.

Ben, You are being too easy on Trump. I know you don't want to burn your bridges with him but some of what he said is moronic. Iran should have ballistic missiles because Saudi Arabia has them? That is insane and Trump is losing it. You should call him out without fear of not being invited to his next Chanukah party.

The only way fears of iranian capabilities are legitimate is if we have been lied to by the administration. So which is it? If we totally rekt destroyed owned dogwalked schooled and mogged their entire airforce, army, navy, and that one kid who was a little too good at math, then Iran is no threat anymore and Israel can handle it.

If Iran is still a regional powerhouse, what did we accomplish at the cost of US lives, economic instability, and over a billion dollars a day?

Ben does not have any personal animosity towards JD: his disagreements are pragmatic and political. He is concerned about the optics and the points of leverage.

The fatal flaw of our strategy is that we thought we could bomb them into submission. However, they won’t submit or compromise or honor any “deal”. We literally had to pause the war because we were running low on bombs in theater, make no mistake this was probably the most prodigious bombing campaign we’ve ever undertaken. But the definition of victory never matched our actions. I’m unsure if Dems will be able to articulate this in a meaningful way leading up to elections.

Iran entire military is gone, their leadership is gone, we literally have to tell Israel to stop attacking, we captured millions in oil, they agreed to stop making a nuke, and we haven’t even finalized a peace deal it’s just a ceasefire, plus they still have to deal with rebellion from their own people… so how is Iran winning?

@davidjay4373

Ben, your real concern is the optics — that Iran gets to stand at the table after getting crushed and pretend it came out equal. Fine. Make that argument.

But don’t turn conditional compliance into an unconditional giveaway or call JD Vance a liar. Iran gets no U.S. money, no automatic $300B, and no economic future unless it meets every standard.

Iran’s military structure, navy, air defenses, missile capacity, economy, and country are wrecked. The optics may bother you, but the reality is Iran is negotiating from collapse, not strength.

The Iranians played the waiting game and won
The US negotiators obviously knew the timelines re oil reserves and midterms
The US negotiators crippled themselves by constantly taking backward steps after big wins, the Iranians have nothing except time and the US gave it to them willingly

America put its small apartheid junior partner in their place and now have decided to deal with Iran as a serious country again.

@Mattiedamacdaddy
@

Ben, calling this a “massively bad deal” only works if you erase the actual terms and pretend Iran is negotiating from strength.

No U.S. money. No automatic $300B. No blanket sanctions relief. No economic upside unless Iran meets every standard required of them.

Meanwhile Iran’s military structure is shattered, its navy and air defenses are wrecked, missile capacity is damaged, its economy is broken, and the country is devastated.

You can say you do not trust enforcement. That is a real argument. But calling the deal massively bad by treating conditional compliance as an unconditional giveaway is false.

If we know they're going to go back on the deal why in the world are we making a deal? Just get the job over with. This strategy has been short-sighted ever since we let up on them.

@mcash232
@

Ben keeps talking about the midterms and political effects for being Trumps reasoning, but Netanyahu's election is coming up at the same time, and this deal will make Netanyahu's coalition crumble, and therefore post midterms, post Netanyahu Trump will no longer have to deal with the hardlining pressure and Netanyahu taking advantage of the war to randomly invade Lebanon.
