Welcome to Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium
Video Overview & Insights
Welcome to Omaha, the 30th channel featured on Zoo Tours. This video gives you a brief introduction on why the Henry Doorly Zoo, may just possibly be the world's greatest zoo. They're fronting an impressive collection of reptiles, African Savanna and Asian Highland regions that set new standards, one of the world's largest indoor rainforests, the world's largest nocturnal house, placed under the hemisphere's largest indoor desert, again under the world's largest glazed geodesic dome. And I get to present it all to you

I live there
@LonzoPerez-h1nI am so saddened to write this review. Such a jewel of my city has fallen into the wrong management. Employees are bottom of the barrel. Young man with pants literally below his cheeks, no care at all. Yelled at by hideous women I don't want my children around--big, satanic tattoos, slovenly, full of spiked metal coming out their faces, zero care attitude to the customers. I'm telling you these women--green hair, so unkempt, so aggressive, so totally unresponsive to guests. It is sickening. Our zoo is gone. I wanted to vomit when I left.
@DCKSELPI was there
@KobeGreen-n7lProud of my State! So nice!
@ProphetcyInDenialThis was one of the first news that I’ve been to when I was very little. I’m just watching it to see if I recognize anything or remember anything I was only around four years old at the time.

@louiss1625Easily one of the best zoos. Rivals San Diego.
@michaelp8794I've been to this zoo a few times and never had any issues. I went yesterday (8/14/21) with my family and it has really gone to crap. A lot of closed down exhibits, a lot of empty enclosures, train shut down, 25 bucks a person for adults, and you can forget about buying food and drinks there unless you want to spend hours in line and empty your bank account. We spent half the time there searching for food and drinks and were getting dangerously dehydrated. My sister had to leave way early because it was so ridiculous that she was about to pass out. I'm not exaggerating at all, about 9 out of 10 drinking fountains do not work in the park. Most food places are closed so the few they do have open are WAY over crowded and the service is so slow that the lines barely move, count on being in line for several hours. Forget about buying refreshments from the vending machines as they are literally all sold out. Nevermind the fact that it costs $3.75 for the drinks in the vending machines and they still can't seem to stock them. You had better bring your own koy fish pellets with you too because all the fish food dispensers were empty except for the two machines that didn't work at all, they were completely full. But if you need to buy your kids overpriced merchandise you still can, all of that is completely stocked. Profits are clearly the priority to Omaha Zoo over customer experience and safety. It's like they're literally trying to kill people. We had to ask an employee for some cups and ice water from one of the "online ordering only" food vendors which thank God they gave to us (in tiny dixie cups btw). It was so bad that people started asking us where we got the water from. IT WAS BEYOND RIDICULOUS!!! And I hate when people use all caps and exclamation points btw.
@deputydillholeThe Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium is my absolute favorite place on earth! I just discovered your channel, and I was so happy to hear that you loved the HDZA so much!
@joshuaholkeAs an Omaha native, when I visited family out of state and whent to thier local zoo, I was shocked at how small it was. Henry Doorly really spoiled me for zoo's in the best ways.

@fryzers7932Looks so cool!! Your voice sounds different did you get a new microphone or are you sick?
@noahm398You’re getting real close too that 10k mark
@spunkymonkey5256I went to Henry Doorly for the first time around 2014-2015, and while I liked it, there were definitely some pretty horrendously outdated exhibits. But I went back in 2018 and was much, much more impressed with it! The sterile bear grottoes were gone (it's now the Sea Lion Pool, replacing the terrible old Sea Lion Pool) and the Asian Highlands and Africa exhibits were amazing! I haven't seen a real-life elephant in a zoo since Lincoln Park Zoo's last ones died in 2004, and seeing not only the herd, but a bull elephant was impressive as well. I don't think I'd seen a bull at that point. I'm glad I gave the zoo another chance, because I really love it now! Now to just fix that outdated cat building and the really pathetic great ape exhibit.
