On a Friday night after hanging out with his straight mates, Russell heads out to a nightclub, alone and on the pull. Just before closing time he picks up Glen. And so begins a weekend - in bars and in bedrooms, getting drunk and taking drugs, telling stories and having sex -- that will resonate throughout their lives.
From the director of the British underground hit 'Greek Pete', Andrew Haigh's tender unpeeling of the emotional and psychological layers of two young men coming into their own was the talk of the South By Southwest film festival, and comes to the UK on the back of international film festival acclaim.
The magic of this film hovers on that delicate point where all the vulnerability of and for the aspiration for love either becomes real or disappears in a moment. Afraid to unburden the desire of commitment, the 2 are caught in a will I or wonβt I situation. In the end, the cycle of partnering last a weekend. How the human heart tortures itself with the illusion of a map of destiny to love only to have it snapped away in a careless moment of our own life plans.

@pauleiwalshI've finally watched this movie more than 10 years since it's release. It's beautiful picture with great and soft cinematography. Awesome performances and writing. This is the type of movies that get stuck in your mind for days, weeks or years. It is a bittersweet experience that reflects on the reality of love bonds and life circumstances. It tells the story that many people have told about finding their soulmate, only to be separated due to life.

Edit: Watched the movie! it was alright, the editing was a bit jumpy, and sometimes would skip to a scene, where we couldnβt see the progression to that scene, leaving some confusion. the ending seemed happy, yet felt so incomplete. donβt want to spoil the movie, but is there a sequel? would love to their relationship progress even more.
