Week Ahead 13/07/2026 – Heatwave goes on– Met Office weather forecast UK
Video Overview & Insights
This is the Met Office UK Weather forecast for the week ahead 13/07/2026. With high pressure in control there will be plenty of sunshine this week and it’s still hot. Some stubborn low cloud will linger around North Sea coastal parts, and this will push in during the nights, before burning back each day. Bringing you this week’s weather forecast is Alex Burkill.
This current heatwave probably shouldnt be called a heatwave now in my opinion given our warming climate. I think the current heatwave thresholds need review. Yesterday max in Cardiff 28C with overnight dropping to a pleasant 15C. Yes, still fairly hot, but much more manageable than the deathly June heatwave. Its the hay fever thats bothering me, not so much the heat

This is horrible... especially owning a dog. Great summer weather yeah....but near 30s every day is grim with these little four legged ones wearing a coat. 😕

It’s summer 🌞😎 I’ve been waiting for this all year it’s lovely 🥰💚 roll on 🏖️🌊
@NaturalNat111really like this guy, he doesn't go on and on and on and on and on about, yes you guessed it, the "south east"
@RichardwrightpainterWales has had fantastic weather ...very sunny,hot/warm and nice sea breezes and great temps through the evening.
@theguvnor5964My apartment lounged measured 38* last week. Flipping awful.
@janerichardson2806“Fine” is a positive. In the case of this weather, you need to find a negative, maybe unpleasant
@janerichardson2806I suspect this heatwave will continue until October, please prove me wrong!
@janerichardson2806Over estimate it's not a heat wave at all
@MartinA-kp8xgIt will not be this warm with the air coming of the north Sea, no where near, narritive exaggeration
@MartinA-kp8xgJust glad the rain's finally stopped and puddles have almost disappeared from the roadsides, 2 days of 18-21c and bright sunshine, almost a week since it rained, has made it finally feel like summer. Looks like it might even be sunny and maybe hotter until the weekend too!
@al_freewolfIt does not work
@campervannie5948its not a very hot heatwave, is it
@5starrater1seems the UN agenda and dialog has more to do with what is happening than reality ! Still we have the Al Gore charts to keep us terrified
@johntaylor4084it's so worrying with an elderly ill relative, every hot day you worry they're so bad you worry so much. Meanwhile everyone else: "Global warming's a hoax!" "People need to stop whinging and enjoy the sunshine!"
@believingregardlessforeverNothing like the high temperatures you keep quoting here in the South East the last three days, very cool and cloudy today, (Monday)
@pete225521 degrees in sunny Cumbria today with a strong cool easterly wind blowing all day. Perfect.
@IceStationZebra2025I'm fed up with these flippant weather forecasters talking about the heat continues,saying "high pressure in charge" I don't want it to be in charge I want it to be balanced with a Low pressure cooler weather system.🤨🥵
@RossAnderson-j3zGlad it’s cooling a bit this week in Norfolk 34 last week was awful !
A breeze is welcome but so would rain , sadly not !
Hay ho
Monday: Hot
Tuesday: Hot
Wednesday: Hot
Thursday: Hot
Friday: Hot
Etc... For ever and ever...
I don't know why you're saying this heatwave is less humid. Maybe it is outdoors but indoors my forehead is consistently dripping with sweat, sweat moustache, cleavage and feeling close to tears. Why is it always us pale people that suffer the most. All the ones who love burning their skin because they actually tan don't mind the other detrimental effects that this intense heat and lack of sleep are causing. They make summer their whole personality. Well, it is now proven that it's not just sun worshippers that have SAD. Us that can't regulate our internal temperatures or suffer with heat related issues and bright light intolerance, we get Summer SAD. I think that is worse than having it in the cold months. We can't tear our skin off if we have worn as little as we can. Whereas we can layer up, still have the sun and blue skies but not sweating all the time. I actually hate the feeling of sweat on my skin. It's itchy and slimy and I feel dirty all the time!
@6JillybeansToday in north norfolk it felt like an autumn day. We look forward to the sun coming out again on Tuesday and continuing with this gorgeous summer.
Very funny forecast though, 'and again, the sun will burn away the cloud in the morning....'
The climate idiots make me laugh though. They seem to have forgotten we had a wetter than average June - oops!!!!
Yay!! This is heaven 😎🌞x
@suegriffiths5365How does it remain so warm when the air is all being blown down from the Arctic?
@munkyheedI’m thoroughly enjoying it! Think I have acclimatised and now can sleep through the night without wondering if I have wet the bed 😂
@Run_Lift_Repeat1Please bring back Fahrenheit
@grunge_surf_witch_uk9130Excellent update thanks Alex. It seems at least possible that large parts of the southern half of the UK could see no measurable rainfall in July, which is concerning.
@MK-1973I'm by Barmouth, weather people got it wrong, thermometer in shade is 34.3° today, yesterday was 33.7°, forcast said 26 to 28 so they've miscalculated 🥵
@Flowerpot24We had a grey cloud start this morning in Birmingham, and for a few hours, up to 11am at least, it was lovely. I almost needed a cardy, but there was a lovely wind. Sadly, humidity and sun sprung back in, in the afternoon. 😏
@alpinaCDI love hot weather and have been in my element in recent summers but rain is required.
@paulgelsthorpe3712not too bad today 26c is tolerable has a nice breeze with it as well. The weekend was quite awful 30c the air con had to come out again.
@evildeed90sFor all those just saying it's a normal Summer, let this fun fact sink in.
This is the coolest Summer you are ever going to experience. They are only going to get warmer and longer from here on in. When fields grass, trees are a consistent dry yellow. When there are water rations and the daily heat death toll becomes a normality. Please come back and read your comments on here.
I am no eco vegan warrior, but I have eyes and a memory. This is not normal.
I think we are going to need desalination plants built,, to feed into reservoirs..
@MK_Adventures54Anyone remember the weather reports from the Fast Show? Scorchio!
@Timmy51mThis weather in north west England is perfect lovely warm days and a a cool breeze at night hope it lasts for months. Saving me a fortune. People seem to forget that the beginning of June it was 13 degrees I had my heating on a month ago!!!
Plus if we don’t need the heating on that’s less carbon emissions which everyone keeps saying is why the summer is nice and warm 🤣
I’ll tell you what when all the politicians of this world stop driving around in massive range rovers and flying 1000 of miles a year then maybe I’ll believe em about climate change 😂😂😂
We need rain, the crop yield is dismal, we'll have to charge more for our grain
@yorkiecobAt this point iv adapt to the heat and today with the breeze its feeling much less oppressive and actually injoyeble ❤
@MAKGaming30Long may it last , I'm enjoying it here in Dublin, Ireland
@darraghgregory1269Scorchio
@binky_bunI hope something weird happens and the weather is hot all year round.
@stephenporter1742Thanks Alex. You're a star 👌🏻
@elijahheyes9061It’s like Groundhog Day 😂😂😂😂😂😂
@YorktswanaLot of people in London have dìed in london with this heat
@janstevens1376How is it still so warm when the air is coming from the north??
@junekohler886Betty Swollocks part deux.
@Angus_MuirI see the trolls have come out to play.
Is there anything the Met Office can do on YouTube to control this automated nonsense ?
have they started trying to block out the sun yet................
