Wealth Inequality in America

Video Overview & Insights

Infographics on the distribution of wealth in America, highlighting both the inequality and the difference between our perception of inequality and the actual numbers. The reality is often not what we think it is.

Time for a revolution. No way those ultra rich will give up their money just through some changes to taxes. The system is baked in to protect them and reward them and now they fund ultra right wing types to spread race war instead of class war.

Top 1% is the proof capitalism doesn't work either, moreover so in a world where money = political power. That's why epstein files will never be released and the top 1% will keep screw everyone... unless we change something!

And then, there are people who would want you to think that the buttom 2% is actually making your life worse with their petty crimes. They stole your bicyle, they damage your car, they shoplift so much so now you have to deal with safety locked cheese.
Maybe there is a reason for that. Maybe the culture would not have stooped so low if 20% of them would not be below the powerty line while the top1% controls 40% of total wealth.
Its 2026, its probably around 60-65% now.
And they still want to sell us the "you should have choosen a better paying job" bullshit.

The problem with this video is how the information is approached. When you say middle class is "worse off" than upper middle, compared to top 20%, you're assuming middle class isnt making enough... you're essentially operating under a premise you already said was a bad idea-- that the distribution should be treated as equal. There's no reference line for the poverty line, or for what would be considered comfortable,l. Additionally, there's no consideration for what is done with the assets. The reality is that middle class makes enough to live comfortably affording housing, food, healthcare, responsible savings, and unessential quality of life purchases. Lower middle class does all that while scraping by, and upper middle makes enough to not worry about making ends meet, so long as they aren't irresponsible and spend like they earn outside of their bracket... but most of the capital there, and below is earned income. The capital for the top 20%, as stated stems from bonds and stocks. This is capital made from investments and wealth accrued by ownership, and aren't used as currency except in the context of trading/growing/creating businesses. The question becomes, then, what do they do with this excess wealth? Well, they do the same thing the upper middle class does, but they also provide job opportunities for everyone else. To hold them to the same standard as the middle class is not obly stupid, its unfair... its like buying a cup from your neighbor's lemonade stand, then complaining that he's able to afford 3000 glasses to sell to others.

There are different pies in our economy. If you cut them all with the same knife, you not only ruin the pie, but it becomes impossible to tell wtf youre eating.

Did he asked them of their interpretation of wealth instead of assuming and making an ass out of himself? Is owning an abundance of materials the only consideration of wealth which is something you cannot take with you when they put you into the ground or burn your ass. How much wealth did the Palestinian's have? Are their lives more valuable then the destruction of all their properties by the Jews. It appears that sustaining life is more important then how much material things one owns. Food or Genocide? Gaza or Manhattan? Hmmm. It appears we all have our own values in life. I suppose when society dictates to you what something is then it is the standard. Hmmm. So how do you define being totally free, Since no one on this planet is free? What value or wealth would you put on Freedom.?

The leaders have known this since 100 years ago as they changed the banking system. Your $10,000 used to buy over 450 1oz gold coins. Now you $10,000 buys 2.5 gold coins. Also, the morgtage. Home built and financed in 1965, refinance in 1998, still paying on in in 2026. So the banks just have to type that into your account. That's it. Your family has had its wealth siphoned by the banks this whole time. Sanctioned and legalized and normalized by the federal government cause PROFIT. The system doesn't care about you you are its pawns. Very sad STATE OF THE UNION.

How are people this absolutely dillusional about wealth distribution? We KNOW this right. For over decades this information has been available.

As a european it is mindblowing that this information has been available for over 10 years and you haven't done anything about it.

Oh and people in that 1% hardly work at all. Most role into it bt generational wealth etc. Etc.

And as a PSA: eat the rich, burn the system.
