The fact that CNN works so hard in a news like this is just ridiculous and none sense as all its narrative. 🙄

When you’re watching from outside the US like I am, you simply cannot fathom why any US citizen would believe the bullshit Trump spouts seriously. Heaps of money were siphoned off that supposedly went into the renovation; and obviously, if the pool floor is darker, the water heats up faster and algae grows rapidly you don't need someone dumping 100 liters of the stuff in there; that’s just nonsense. And anyone who knows anything about chemistry knows that if you pour massive amounts of highly concentrated hydrogen peroxide into a freshly painted pool (I’ll skip the part about it being sealed, because it wasn't), a chemical reaction occurs that simply causes the paint’s structure and composition to disintegrate. I find it ridiculous that people are calling it vandalism just because they have the mental maturity of a toddler.

Water quality depends, among other things, on a stable or ideal pH level; flooding the pool with ozone might kill the algae, but it throws the water chemistry out of balance, causing the entire pool to turn milky white—and then you’re in for a real headache, because the only solution is to completely shield it from light and sunlight or simply replace the water.

Blue is darker than bare concrete. Dark colors absorb more heat. More heat = More Algae.

For 100 years, that reflecting pool has had algae in it. In the hot climate of DC, and the high phosphate in DC water, and the constant addition of bird droppings, it will never be free from algae. Trump's obsession with it is unhinged.
