Its crazy that the norwood scale gen Xer had a whole speech at the end to explain what the scales mean after using his own nostalgia and favorability of the movies to override the opinions of the two smarter guys grading by the pre established criteria. And its even crazier when he begrudgingly has to put avatar 2 in S when he clearly doesn't like the movie, just cause he cant think of a rebuttal for that one.

Niko, Jordan, and Sam create a Tier List of the best and worst "Most Expensive" VFX! What do you think of their ranking?
Terminator 2 is the only movie I watched as a kid and actually noticed the VFX. I believed everything was real, but not that. They aged like milk, not sure how it was seen at the time. Considering S tier is wild nostalgia from a bunch of norwood scale gen Xers.

Burly brawl looks so bad. It looked bad at the time, too.

I've never seen The Electric State, but seeing the quick Arrested Development reference on the billboard got a laugh out of me.

Putting the Matrix in the same tier as Snow White is diabolical. Not that Matrix is that good, Snow White just needs to be in the contaminated tier.

1:51 - I just want to point one thing out- the direction he is turning that knob should close the bottle, NOT open it.
Also, that whole show is complete trash, STRAIT to shlt tier.

"The real actors in LoTR playing dwarves were way better than CGIs in Snow White, I don't see the point of this".
Leftism. They were supposed to have real actors but got span into a pretzel over ethics of hiring small people, CGIing large people into small people and everything around it that it is what they ended with.
00:00 How will we Rank VFX?
01:03 The Flash
Matrix Reloaded was RIDICULED in the day for its effects. The rubbery faces, the plastic coat for Neo... How you put that B tier is ridiculous, I don't care how groundbreaking the attempt was. It was the Flash of its time.
02:35 Justice League
05:00 Dawn of the Planet of the Apes
putting matrix on par with sonic is just mental 🤣
07:08 King Kong
09:52 Sonic The Hedgehog
putting king kong in C is criminal
11:30 Squarespace - Our Sponsor
12:52 Terminator 2: Judgement Day
If you include "Avatar 2" - a predominantly CGI movie, why not "Gravity"?
14:02 Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest
14:57 The Matrix Reloaded
You guys should rank scenes where they duplicate the actor, like when a character is talking to themselves or their twin.
17:15 Snow White
18:35 Avengers Endgame
Just from a quick look, the Flash looks terrible.
19:48 The Electric State
20:54 Speed 2 Boat Crash
Crazy you haven't seen POTA - the second one has the best creature, lighting, comp ever seen.
22:24 Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny
23:58 Avatar 2
Sharknado where is it?

not a single transformers movie 💔
@OtoyaWWhenever I see Dopey from the Snow White movie.... he reminds me of Alfred E. Newuman
@samuelchan699You can buy a 4K blu-ray of Pirates, play it on a 100" TV, sit 5ft away from it and it still looks phenomenal. After 20 years. Literally perfect.
@Matticittthe production crew should've just kept the dang moustache for superman. it would've looked better
@DehyasHusband26651Warner Bros fcked up Justice League and Flash really bad.
@consonaadversaparsOMG you guys did King Kong so dirty!!! How could you tar it with the same brush as Justice League and rate it lower than Sonic and Snow White?!?!
@MischiefDragon96Never thought I'd see VFX people disrespecting the Matrix like that, but here we are
@notkno7Apes....APES not monkeys 😭
@Azztech865I find it hard to believe any of the Transformers movies weren’t “most expensive”. If they weren’t just forgot about and not as expensive as these, that makes them all the more impressive.
@sheyanderson4371is it coincidence that a majority of these movies with crazy VFX budgets are also movies I've never watched and have no interest in watching? Legit the only movies I've seen on this list are T2, The Matrix and Avengers 😂🤣 And I watch a heinous amount of movies ahaha
@GiuseppeLombardo4Avengers is just as bad as justice league vfx garbage
@HpNoTiZdOpening scenes of swordfish and Ghostship... gory yet believable
@blade_20The reason why Terminator 2 is a solid, undoubtedly, strong ass S tier, is cause as much as it was super expensive per shot (300k), the "worthiness" of it wasn't only in the end result (the movie) but how good it aged, it was a invesment, to the point that when Fantastic 4 came out, Silver Surfer's metal CGI was being COMPARED, in a VS, with T-1000, a character that came 3 DECADES PRIOR. And not only that, but the fact that if you watch T2 right now, in the 2020s, the CGI doesn't take you out of it, it blends and the experience remains perfect. Thats why is a S TIER and is NOT subjective, is OBJECTIVE.
@nosepo2121I remain convinced that these bloated cg and production budgets are money laundering situations 90% of the time
@twigg9057Man these videos are just the best. Best show on the YT.
@BodytheCamtheFootageWait a minute… $13,700 per frame would actually be $328,800 per second (since it’s 24 frames per second).
@TheRealBGregzApes aren’t monkeys, you stooges.
@TheRealBGregzWhat about 2012? I feel the VFX there is really good for the movie genre.
@ionita-daniel-mihaiI get the outro music of Beard Meats Food here 18:59
@PouryaHosseinithat intro was golden
@Psyborg_of_NatureSnow White... 100% Contaminated F tier! It was just creepy!
@MyWasteOfTimewhatch any of these in poor old avi rip on the old monitor , great its like damn i dont neet to se cunthair outlines in a movie to enjoy it
@ReekingDuckWhere would Real Steel be placed on any Tier list? A film that is seldom mentioned.
@MambaruNiko and Sam not watching the planet of the apes movies is the most insane thing I’ve heard from vfx artists. Not only do they have some the of the best cgi put to screen but they also are great stories!
@xmelonslayerx8135Why the CT hate? It’s a good truck!
@virginiaa8755I get you guys do this for a living, but your assessment of what looks good and doesn't is sometimes waaaaaay off the mark.
@JB-qy1gxthe mic in shot ngl killing me
@chrisjacot616First Transformers definitely a miss
@slim2826You really need to give more weight to the state of the art at the time of production .
Speed 2 was ridiculously expensive ( I suspect money laundering myself) , but could that scene have been produced as believably or more so at the time for significantly less ?
So these guys just don’t watch movies?
@PhillipJCoulsonDo CG animals next
@Mr.gentleman_shortsI will never understand your love of the Avatar crap. It looks like an early 2000s video game. Just awful.
