The spirit and purpose behind signing the Indus water treaty with Pakistan was to have good neighborly relation, but instead, what India got in return were four brutal wars, unabated terrorist attacks, betrayals, useless shoutings at every damn opportunity at the international fora. India has no quarrels with people of Pakistan, it is the feudal vested interests which have unfortunately captured all levers of powers and institutions of the country. They are responsible for mismanagement and misuse of powers, bringing suffering to the ordinary people. As long as Pakistan continues to pursue same policy of confrontation with India, the IWT will remain suspended.

Current projects are mostly targeted to retain excess water that was stupidly given to Pakistan. And we are getting so worked up with that. @aleenanoor894rffbuttda3The IWT is suffering from many limitations that are addressed now. Why 80 percenr of water flowing in the eastern river should be shared with Pak. The J&K and Ladah starve of power. This has to be addressed by reducing the water share to Pak. The hydro power enhancement will endeavour to the development of these regions. In this sense, India cannot continue to sacrifice the gifted water flowing through the soils of India. Plus environmental problems creep in
. india cannot afford to ignore such threats. Keeping all these hidden issues, India will have to decide with parental approach to look after our rivers in healrhy environment. The time has now to be wise in IWT whether or not as far as India is concerned.
