Thank u bro! This was my first video of yours. Watching you practice was very helpful and your advice was great! I practiced dribbling today and set a goal of winning at least one competitive game. I just hit lvl 75 and have never really won a comp game or been above score 400. Well... Guess who hit silver 3 overnight! I thought bronze would be cool lol

I would consider myself a pretty mechanical player. Im sitting around 1500 rn in 2's. My biggest struggle is utilizing the mechanics in game and when to use them. Any tips on getting better at this?

I usually don't comment but this video is a goldmine. Lots of good takeaways. I totally agree with your point that learning from your mistakes is important but don't over-obsess too much where you hurt your confidence. Confidence is insanely important in rl and all parts of your life.

In rocket league I honestly think mechanics is way more important to focus on practicing. Because it's not something that comes natural with gameplay. Where as gamesense is. Just don't turn your brain off when you play, and the gamesense levels will rise over time. Mechanics on the other hand, is way more about muscle memory and consistent inputs to the controls.

17:23 lowkey true, i started getting mad at my teammates less and started accepting the play and just moving to the next and then we actually started winning.

I’m one of the few that genuinely play better when I get trash talked. I’ve noticed it when I play ones and my opponents say what a save when I’m down several goals and then I almost always comeback. Even in 2s I’ve had several occasions where I was playing absolutely terrible and someone trash talked me. After that then I feel like I turn into Zen and I go into a flow state. It’s very weird and I don’t know why it happens. Even some of my teammates have said it after trash talking me earlier that I’ve played better after they trash talked me.
I’m consistently high gc1 to mid gc2 for the past 2 or 3 seasons. I’ve been getting more towards low gc2 and higher gc2 recently and very rarely been dropping into gc1

gran video, muy bueno. te ganaste un nuevo seguidor. saludos desde argentina
@slookirthe tip on learning from someone just a bit better than you is huge for RL. this game has so many levels that learning from someone like 3+ entire ranks above you sometimes is really inefficient although what i do learn from watching pros is creativity on defence / offence. but when it comes to speed, challenges and decision making sometimes copying pros just does more harm than good because their playing on a whole new level and their accommodating for their opponents ability as well which is obviously a lot higher than my c1 opponents.
@Destroyer3O3Focus on getting better, not your rank. Consistency is what separates players within your rank. Shot accuracy, timing etc. Be more consistent and the rank will happen organically. ❤
@Aries-509hey jack just a quick question if you have the time can you help me understand something? what does boost managment mean? like I get the whole idea of keeping boost but apparently. I am not timing my boost. What does that even mean? As a gc2 player I thought I knew everything about the fundementals but I can't seem to find anything online I can't get any help from google and even higher level players mainly gc3 can't seem to explain it.. if you have the time some help explaining this concept would be nice. I have been playing this game for 6 years and still don't understand some concepts. sorry for the rant just need some help is all. thank you to anyone who read this to the end.
@Cdograw11:40 When people think of mechanics in rocket league, they think of the flashy stuff like flip resets and psychos etc. People people who say game sense is more important don't realize that things like wall catches, soft touches, half volleys are all mechanics as well. Mechanics like those are infinitely more important than just having "game sense". Game sense is useless if you just give the ball away every time you touch it because you don't have the mechanics to control it.
@pugbutt21Mmmm controversial take on the mechanical vs game sense but I understand what you mean.
@Sebonshi20:05 , how do we get this message across to C3 - GC3 players in EU? Every EU player seems to think that they are going pro and are beyond toxic if someone makes a mistake... I've lived in NA my whole life, recently moved to EU and its noticeably worse toxicity in EU.
@nikoladobricic5287One of the biggest things i noticed as a gc1 is that actually grind ranked when you actually feel like playing rocket league so many times i will hop on the game just because its routine and just stay the same rank not improve and get annoyed. On thing to add is that when you want to play rocket league you improve, sometimes its just a mental thing.
@Brian-m8kSo you expect me not to blame mate when mates whiff 5 times half way into the game… in gc2 lobbys. I literally been stuck between gc1 gc2 for years coz of this same thing all the time. I swear gc have become the most unconsistand rank gc1 used to be like top 0.1% 3 years ago and now it’s literally over 3% its soo many boosted people and soo many high rank that jsut get stuck coz they over and over get like a champ or smth that got boosted its every game sometimes you met a ssl or ppl saying they are 2k playing like a champ. Pls tell me what am I supposed to do. Coz when I play scrims in gc3 ssl lobby’s I can actually keep up with the games but every gc2 after I’ve done a play they gonna instantly fly up or go for the ball . And what’s ending up happen is they either whiff completely or lose the 50 right after i went for a play and my recovery is fast and yet I can’t possibly get back after they whiff. It’s gc2 like it’s not good anymore it’s top 3% in the world all these champs man
@HåkonHakon-j8vVery much agree with the Mechs over game sense and I also think my game sense is my better trait. As someone who started with competitive shooters and fighting games, you can have all the game sense in the world but when it's time to clutch up and preform that shit doesn't matter. The way I see it game sense puts you in the best position/oppurtunity to succeed but actually succeeding will ultimately depend on mechs. Plus like in the video, you can simply learn game sense even when not playing but you have to constantly train mechs.
@Kekkai_how do you train your game sense?
@dyraxfpsThanks dad
@putridplaythroughsidk if u ever explained that but do u know why u move ur left cheek like that
@Tsunami437Im bronze 2 in 2s and I have 77 MMR in heatseaker
@CameronStanley-r8sno idea what i do wrong in terms of game sense, positioning etc. c3 and stuck there, awesome video
@ALeotarMechs and sense are two sides of the same coin. Mechs are tools that let you move to places or use the ball in a specific way. Sense is the knowledge and experience to be able to use the mechanics effectively. One without the other makes you exploitable as a player. If someone can read you easily because you're using a mechanic in the wrong situation, you get beaten. If somebody can beat you even if you can read their play perfectly but don't have the mechanical ability to reach the right position or make good contact, you get beaten. You need to know both where to be and how to get there the best way possible.
@seargd1I also really LOVE your analysis channel
@Caimanwendt6 or what tips?
@WeskerOCEBest way to improve fast, play clever like Flakes. Works for for pros also...
@DerHouyHi
@CameronStanley-r8sYou have two legs for a reason -- or two pedals on a bike -- because its much easier and faster to get somewhere when you use both legs/pedals. Mechanics and game sense are pretty much equally important -- you need both to have good balance.
As for playing better when being trash talked to, have you looked at the studies? Quote, "Research from the Wharton School and Georgetown University shows that being the target of trash-talking can actually improve performance..." Why? There is a reason, but you need to do your own research.
3:04 but jack, I'm bad at everything lol and that will be the case until high GC probably 😅
@bozydargrochI agree with the mechanics > game sense take and I consider myself a smarter player more so than mechy. I’m only GC3 and not a top pro, but I was stuck in champ 3 for years and feel like I had maxed out my game sense for that level. Then only a few weeks of training new mechs pushed me to GC2 in no time, then that final push to GC3 was learning the new level of game sense like when to cut the field etc. this is outdated at this point but it’s been years at this point.
@archielane4539many players say to me. "go freeplay to get better" ok i am going in to freeplay my car spawns in and... am i better now? what to do in freeplay is is rarly adressed. and no i am not going for wall to air dribbles in freeplay becuse i know i wont do them ingame
@colymoli4311Can I send you some clips of me? I’m gold and Ik I prob won’t go pro or anything like that but my goal is champ so can I get some help?
@BraydenGaultOnce I get called “buns” or “trash” I quit trying to clip go into carry mode get mvp and stay silent the entire time.
@Yesh77777always happy to take an apparentlyjack tip
@rl_steezwhat mechanics are needed at gc
@BobstersR6This is not preventing me from ranking up but I do find it extremely funny how negative comms are, in regards to tip 4. Imagine wanting to win but talking shit to the only other person on this planet in this moment who can get you what you want.
@Bojangus-U were yapping alot about gamesense vs mecanics. and i think forky said it short and precise."if you dont have the macanics to carry out the plan, it dosent matter if you have a good plan".
@simonthinggaard8547I am the epitome of being stuck due to lack of mechanics 😭
@coxalexgsI’m a hard stuck c1-c2 since 4 or 3 season I think idk what I’m doing wrong in trying to be a good teammate I have very good mechanics surprisingly I still loose or just get stuck
@MrtnnnnnThank you so much for all this advice. Keep it up.
@Fadorz-c5lI choose to believe the 45 degree flicks mention is talking about my video where I focused on learning them from the next rank training until I got a good result in game.
